PH or CalMag issue?

..Lunar, I just got done with your post,.. yours isn't an Mg issue,.... Transport isn't a wetting agent, it's a carrier solution that allows temporary penetration into the leaf through the otherwise impermeable cuticle layer,... using it negates the need for wetting agents though, which is what I think you meant? I love Transport, it kicks ass, and if you want to beat the balls off a defc. issue, especially micronutes, use it with a dedicated micronute supp' like Earth Juice Microblast... check out the Showcase area, I did a review on it a while back :smoking:
leave the leaves alone, removing them does nothing to fix a thing, likely make matters worse in fact,... damage from most defc./toxicity issues doen't reverse, though Mg is one of them that does,.. otherwise you're looking for a halting of progression,...

BigD, did you foliar spray yet?

Waira, This is from the OF website for Transport. TRANSPORT provides superior spreading and wetting capabilities that allow you to spray in full sunlight with no damage or burning. Combine Optic Foliar TRANSPORT with any foliar solution to allow you to spray in full sunlight with no damage or burning, residuals to wash off or the need to spray the undersides of the leaves. Transport is the only spreader to maximize absorption to the plants Mesophyll Layer.

Last night I took some of my self mixed optic foliar spray (basically overgrow) and added in some nitrozyme which is supposed to help plants under stress and I sprayed it on. And my autopot res feed has full regular dose of CalMag in it now.

And I'm going to mix up another small batch of epsom salt/transport for another spray in a couple of days. I'm trying not to throw too many foliar sprays at this plant, but also trying to give it what is hopefully needs. Its a tough thing to balance.

I’m sorry guys I was MIA for a few days. I still haven’t done a foliage spray. I am not sure what I can use for a wetting agent. Is there anything I can use that I am able to find at a regular garden supply store?

@Waira could I add some epsom salt to distilled water and then mix into bloom chaos?

google diy wetting. believe certain dish soap works. not sure on the amount. It's something like a couple of drops per gallon I think

Regarding 'wetting agent' or surfactant, any non-toxic pure/concentrated mild soap or detergent will work. Castile soaps/detergents, such as Dr. Bronner's products, and other plant oil-based soaps/detergents are good candidates, such as coconut-based. Your local pharmacy, food store, etc. should have a variety of upscale pure natural soaps/detergents. Otherwise, even regular dish detergent will work too. If it's soap/detergent you would use to wash your face or use on dishes (but without scents, moisturizers and other additives), I think just a few drops per Liter will all work fine.

But I just use Transport/Optic Foliar. Why bother with relatively inefficient under-the-leaf foliar feeding?

... yes, I know what it says,.. I've been talking with Dinesh the owner/inventor for over a year now (great guy, one of the best vendors here!)... a while back, I consulted with him on Transport and the use of other wetting agent (also called water spreaders) along with it,.. it's not recommended mainly because of the lack of need due to transport capabilities,... I did try using Coco-Wet along with my micronute solution + Transport on some test leaves,.. seemed OK, but as he said, no significant improvement vs w/o wetting agent... The main concern was if the wetting agent would interfere with the "resealing" of the cuticle layer,... I'll have to test another time, just for curiosity's sake!
...remember to reduce conc. rates to half when using Transport-- :hothot:

>>> BigD-- sure, you can do that,... BII made good suggestions about mild soap substitutes, but I'd avoid any harsher stuff like dish soap; they have very powerful ionic surfactants and other chem's in them, which may burn and/or harm chemically, and certainly leave nasty residues,... a few drops in a gallon won't give the surface tension release at that low of amount anyway,.. remember, the whole point is to take that surface tension out so the solutions doesn't just bead up, but coats and sticks more evenly,...

I would like to thank everyone who replied to this thread. I now add 300-400 ppm of Epsom salts to my Cocotek nutes. Since I began doing this my new growth is a healthy shade of green with no more yellow spots. I also did 2 foliage feeds and my girls look great. I will post some pics tomorrow. Thanks again for all the help this community provides.

...good to hear mate! Don't keep that up for long though, the coco-specific nutes should have that covered already as you increase dosage,... about 1/4tsp/gal is fine for supplementing,...

I am a week or so away from switching over to Bloom nutes. I will slowly work the Epsom dose down from now on.

It has been almost a week that I was stepping down my epsoms and now a slight yellowing color is coming back along with purple stems. Flowering is in full force.
