Do you measure the soil pH with accurate 8 before or after you add the 6.6 water?
I guess the answer is after. Sometimes 30-40 minutes after as per the manufacturer's instructions, sometimes 2 days later as per Muddy's suggestion. Using run off as a barometer of the state of ph, I believe, is not a valid or reliable yardstick. I don't know. Gut feeling. People throw run off around like it's gospel. Then fine. What I ask is that we gather data. Measure the run off and use the famous interpolation formula to derive soil ph then measure it another way. Soil probe. Slurry test. See how consistent the results are. I'm telling you'all my runoff suggests a soil ph around 4.2 according aforementioned formula. My soil meter (Accurate 8) reads 6.2.
