PH run off problems with coco

Hi people, I've been growing in soil for a few years, till this grow where I moved over to Coco. I started with some coco bricks and perlite / vermiculite. I used water I had PHed to 5.5 to break the bricks down then checked the PH . it was way up at 7.8 so flushed the coco 4 times with 20 liters a time ...I cant seem to lower the PH of the coco ..can anyone help ....please

Hmmm, any chance you can get an TDS or EC reading? some coco brands are not very well processed, and this sort of thing happens,.. I'm not coco experienced myself, so check out the coco section here, and read up on this,... ask some folks, who will be happy to help! Coco is sooo not a soil, it's behavior, CEC properties, etc. are quite different,.. likely, you'll need a more specialized rinsing solution to purge the excess bound cations in that coco,... this may include a flushing agent, or a blend of Ca-Mg and mild nutes,.. might need very low ppm water too, RO/DI,...

I took your advise and flush ,then flushed again with just 5.5 PHed water 20 lts at a time checking the ph as it came out of the pots fist flush was 7.8 the next ,,was still in the mid 7s . I don't have TDS or EC gear to take reading ,,there was a bit of salt build up at the top of the pots, too much nutes maybe .
Any way the trouble is gone and now have plants that are well on the way to flowering . one of the AK47s is growing like I have never seen . since the 18/8 she has put on 12 centimeters ,almost 4 weeks old and just starting to flower .. I think I may like coco after all

good to hear They do look pretty happy! ...Coco can be a pain to purge and pH adjust if it isn't a good batch or brand,... Did you go scope out the coco forum? Some our best growers are there,... Bromeo is the Mod there, and would be happy to help advise! ...nice catch and fix mate!
