New Grower pH soil probe

Because I'm running on limited funds...I wanted to know if this soil probe would be OK to use as far as accuracy and reliability go. Thank in advance.

Do you have a water pH meter? ... That's a terrible soil pH meter, better off running water slurry tests if you're that concerned about soil pH IMO. That one will never tell you the truth.

Thanks wg. That's the answer I was looking for. I did pick up one of those testers where you do the slurry tests the other day at Lowes for $10. It seemed to have helped me a lot in the past week, so I'll just stick with that until I can get one of the good digital ones to measure the runoff with.

I bought two and put each side by side in the same soil a they where reading a whole number different. Its better than nothing honestly tho it will let u know if ur pH is changing but not exactly what the pH is. that's more or less all I use them for now that and for poking things lol

Save your money Chief, those things are pretty worthless. Get a good liquid tester first and when you have the money, get a Control Wizard Accurate 8 for soil.

Thanks Muddy! That is a nice soil probe. And the price isn't bad at all. The reason I wanted a soil probe is so I can have constant monitoring of the soil, without having to do slurry tests or runoff tests all the time.

That's a good price with the free shipping. Just make sure it's the Accurate 8 with the 12" probe, not the Accurate 7 with the stubby one. You'll love it. If I had the $ I'd pass them out to all the new growers who come through the door.
