I mix up some nutes and ppms are 218 adjust the ph and ppms shoot to 592 ppms. What's making the ppms go up so high?

I adjust the ph first then add nutes, when i check the ph again it is the same. maybe you should ph it first then add nutes and ph again.

I thought about doing that. Thanks for the suggestion shotta..

How much PH did you use ? you usually only need a few drops & that should not change the PPM like that unless you put way to much in .Could maybe be your PH meter giving false readings ?:Sharing One:

I agree, that shouldn't happen. Couple questions, what is your source water and are you also adding a cal/mag supplement?

Not much at all. I learned my lesson doing DWC a while back. I got the ph a little low and had to bring it back up some and didn't use much ph up either.

This time I did add Cal/mag at 1/2 tsp to a half of a gallon of distilled water. My plant is a little over three weeks old and I noticed a rust spot on one of the leaves so figured I needed some Cal/Mag. I'd only been giving her grow, micro and bloom till this week. Matter of fact this is the only the second time I fed her with 1/8 tsp of grow, micro and bloom general hydroponics flora series.

Could be the added cal mag as Muddy suggests ?... I use Canna mono cal & mag & that sends the PPM way to high in my res ... or possibly your PPM meter is uncalibrated ?... If you know thats reading right then test the res every time you add something for a better idea of whats sending the PPM crazy & go from there

PPM/EC usually dont need much calibration, bluelab doesnt need it at all. Having said this, if you have the solution, do it.
