Harvest & Curing pictures: wet weight vs. dry weight

Thanks for sharing HotBunz. I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the stem-snapping stage is too dry. Maybe it has to do with those who harvest in a humid environment. When they pull snapping-stem buds off the line, the buds could reabsorb moisture, but in a low-humidity place like Alaska, the buds just stay too dry if they are to the snapping stage.

Hey akreso,
The pic at the top of this thread I posted showed 230 grams harvested in the bowl, and your pic shows 239 grams. I think your thumb was on your scale! Just kidding! Your buds look great!

Just sharing :), basicly lost abit more then 75%.

Nice info, I usually go by the stem snap and smoke test before curing. If you can light a joint of said bud, and it stays lit, your good to start the cure IMO.

Every time I harvest, I look at my wet weight, and wonder what my dry weight will be. Well, here's some pics to illustrate that. Basically, one loses 75%.

This is a hybrid I created, crossing Lowlife's Auto AK47, and Dutchbreed's Lowberry. Beautifully-colored buds, and the whole house smells like berries!

nice graphic alaskan1

Last few seasons I only track the dry yield of each plant to see whether I would buy more of that strains seeds or not. Back in the day I would buy 4 wet lbs to get 1 dry from commercial Hawaiian but it wasn't a comfortable feeling until I had my 25% dried cured in my hand at first (especially when I owed lots for it) . Heavy indica was supposed to be 33% but I think it was a bit 'damp', dry enough to burn was the basic rule then. I don't harvest enough to have those concerns anymore, thank god I can take pride in my 'craft' and not profit. It is nice to know a ball park figure at harvest though.
