It's great stuff IMHO.

I haven't used other premium composts so I can't compare to them but I've used all sorts of normal composts you can buy at the garden centre and Plant Magic beats them all.

You can use it straight from the bag and the most you have to do is break up some soft clay lumps or some Phytocell. if ye ever find anything else, call their customer support and they send you a new bag and collect the old one for analysis. I mix with a little Perlite and one PM bag fills 9 x 6 litre pots once mixed. Never had PH problems with it like I sometimes get with other composts.

Might be a downside to you but it doesn't hold water very long. I sow seeds directly in the final pots and i never get any over watering problems in six litre pots with PM soil. By the last couple of weeks I am watering almost every day but I think my plants love that quick wet dry cycle. If you don't then don't mix in any perlite.

It's designed to be used with the full range of PM organic nutes and has a lovely consistency that you will fall in love with it right away.

I have tested this current grow using only the PM compost. They get a dose of PM Boost at end of week 2 then fed Old Timers organic once a week from end of week 3 where they get a 2 weeks of just Old Timers Grow then 2 weeks mix of Grow and Bloom, then Bloom until 2 weeks before the end. Just water till the end.

The PM Boost changes the soil slightly at the end of week 3, turns it more grainy so when watering the water will run through really quickly but then will be soaked back up in 30 seconds. It allegedly makes the nutrients in the soil easier to get at for the plants and is beneficial to your microherd.

I've got their Catalyst seaweed extract if I see any minor deficiency's and Essence if any start looking sickly but haven't used in a while. I have a backup of molasses, vermiculite and bat poo for making tea with but again I haven't had to use any remedy's when using the PM compost.

I first used their non organic nutes but I was a newbie at the time but still got some nice results, moved to organics once i found out it was pretty much the same prices.

Overall I rate their range a 9 out of 10. Does what it says on the tin, could be cheaper though.

If you looking for a quick discrete UK supplier, I recommend Greens in Bristol.

Compost is a few quid cheaper if you can pop down to collect :D

That's a nice write up riz cheers mate,I'm gonna order the soil and the old-timer nutes for my next run which is about a month or so away..iv emailed plant magic yesterday to see if I can get some samples off them so I'll see what they say..also read on there website if your using there synthetic nutes you can choose between hard and soft water nutes depending on were in the uk you are and your water type..:bong: glad to here first hand that your getting good results mate it's what I wanted to here

Post up yer thoughts of it once ye have some. I'd like to hear others opinions, especially from people who have used other premium composts.

Will do mate,I'll be able to compare it to the bio bizz soil I'm currently using..I was given some of the plant magic soil by a friend but when I looked in the bag is was so dry and crumbly,he must've not stored it well or had it ages so I binned it..one more soil product I have is new horizon organic grow bag,mr mcgregor recommended this,it's really cheap about £4 a bag and he's not used any nutes either..a nice cheap alternative to try

I'm using pm soil and pmgrow + pm bloom, at day 61 of first grow 4 out of 5 plants healthy in 11L pots, normally water every 3 days, one plant seems to have cal/mag problem, lots of brown spots on leaves, smaller buds than other plants. Just wondered if anyone had experienced anything like this?? And how to fix it?!
Love the plant magic soil but slightly expensive, think I paid £12.50 for bag of approx 50L

I haven't had any deficiency when using the PM soil yet but i ussualy have stopped feeding by day 61 and like to see the plants use up what nutrients they have left in them. decide when you plan to chop and if its more than 2 weeks away give em a dose. If less than 2 weeks away, just let em go. If it happened sooner then i'd do something about it.

Its an old thread but heres new info about the Plant Magic oldtimer organic range , codes on the bottles (on the sticker) should read ( the last 3 numbers ) Grow 387 or above , bloom 410 and you wont have mg probs as they sorted it

If useing the silicon use at 0.5ml per lt and stop after wk 2 of flower as it starts to mess with the taste & burn of your bud

Useing there coco nutes now with good results :peace:

Ment to add the PM soil has changed and its more like bio-bizz all mix with lumps of bits and bobs so run your hands through it before poaring into your pots but its still a good soil guys

PM bio-wetter this product is great later on in your grow when the soil compacts a tad and when useing air-pots can be a pain , when the wetter is added it goes into the soil alot better and less spillage , if you mix your nutes in a smallish container make sure theres a bit of space at the top of the container as when the wetter is added to your nutes and shaken it will foam up a little , dont worry this is normal

If useing there veg boost DONT add anything else nutriant wise or you'll over fert and dont worry if the soil goes a bit weird this is ment to happen for nute uptake :peace:
