Hi guys,

Got some suspicious creatures sniffing around my just-born plants. I assume they came with the coco but I don't know what are they.

I recorded a video. Excuse the low Q but had to zoom a lot, this fuckers are les than 1mm long

Thanks!

I can't see the vid but what color are they? I am also running Coco for the first time myself and noticed a ton of TINY white bugs crawling around! Effin ayyyy

Yup, those are the f*ckers I saw in mine as well.
I bought Azamax by general hydroponics and sprayed that. I did 1.5ML to 2L of water and used a spray bottle.
It says 30min before lights off but I did it 2hr before and next AM my lady was fine. Way less bugs the next day but still some crawling around and under leaves. You have to spray it three different times according to directions. After first spray wait 3-4 days and spray whole plant and soil (what I did) then repeat a third time.
This ensures it gets any eggs that may be in soil. I also ordered some diatomaceous earth that I will put on top of all my soils for now. It's suppose to kill any bugs and also no harm to humans.
There may be cheaper alternatives but I ran straight to the hydro store as soon as I saw these guys to avoid it getting worse.

DE works but putting a 2 inch layer of sand on top is cheaper and will serve the same purpose.

Check this link for some great tips!

7. All-in-one homemade insecticide spray

From the folks at Rodale's Organic Life comes this all-in-one DIY natural insecticide, which is said to be a combination of many different recipes submitted by readers. To make it, puree 1 bulb of garlic and 1 small onion, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder and let steep for an hour. Strain the mixture and add 1 tablespoon of liquid soap and mix well. To apply this homemade insecticide, spray it full-strength onto both the upper surface of the leaves, as well as the undersides, and store the remainder in the refrigerator for up to a week if desired.

I'm a bit confused...

As far as they don't damage the plants and eat other bugs... aren't they good to be? Should I take measures or let them be?

It's your choice to keep them or get rid of them. Learning the ins and outs of "integrated pest management" isn't something that can be done by reading alone. Experience is the best teacher.

I just am offering you some resources to more natural and cheaper remedies than over-priced and often dangerous hydro-shop cures.

I would put the top layer regardless, and spray with my natural repellents to deter any future insect populations from popping up. The last thing you want to do is attract russet mites or spider mites. Better to be prepared for the inevitable :)
