hey guys sad day for me need some advice so my light blew today at such a important stage of only 2-3weeks old I have two remaining 40w Philipps cfls or should I window seal them or just give up and start over when replacement arrives

They'll survive with just the CFL's all the way to harvest but just not make a whole lot of bud. Window isn't a bad idea but then they'll be in full view of anyone probably lol. That's usually no good even if you're in a legal state, just because ppl are a**holes lol. I would probably just use the CFL's and add a couple more from the store if possible, and just hope for the best.

Use the CFL's

Drive to a hydroponics store and marvel at all the high $$$ stuff

Then just buy only what you need.

:toke: How long to get more lighting? A few days will see then get stretchy, but will recover if and when you get more intense lighting,... the two CFL's won't cut it alone,...

hey guys I will have a new light next week hopefully order new one Friday and need some help either stick with cfl or get a mars hydro 300 , in one day have already seen stretch

LEDS will probably generate less heat than a similar amount of CFL, and that's usually a good thing indoors. Mars hydro makes good lights for the money, you might be able to get a better deal on one by chatting with Tina in the Mars section here, I'm not sure if she's running any deals at the moment.

With the led, the CFLs you already have can give you some extra side lighting. I think you'll like LED as long as you have enough intensity per growing area. How big is your grow space? You can cover about 2x3 feet with a 300, but I'd figure 2x2 with high intensity.
Good luck, bro.

just an update so I get home from work today and I have a parcel at my door hmm what's that I think , so I open it and it's another 300w cfl ... I only complained at 3 yesterday via amazon no reply email ,but today I have a new light with out asking happy days grow is back on track
