Hi there and good morning.

Iam starting my 1st poly tunnel grow with some autos. I have grown for quite a while now but this is my 1st time with autos and a tunnel. When i was in there the other day i noticed the heat builds up quickly. I could open the flaps and door in the summer but dont want to much odour coming out and will bud rot be an issue or will the autos finish quick enough to avoid it? If anyone has any imformation about this or even first hand experience i would be glad if someonr can give me some dos and donts or any tips. cheers. have a good day.

How big is this tunnel?I can't realy help unti I now the size.Usually if it's an enclosed area you have to have a intake and exhaust fan to deal with the heat. Also you will a fan or fans to circulate the air inside the tent. And if smell is an issue you need some sort carbon filter on the exhaust or a way to route it to the outside. As long as you have a circulating fan and the humidty isn't to high ther shouldn't be any bud rot.

I use a greenhouse (midlands uk), the biggest problem is mold for me, the first 2 years I had bare soil floor, which all the mosture in the ground evaperated through and created seriouse mold problems, I was going to concrete over it but was to much to do an pretty expesive, so I dug about 1ft downand cleared the soil, then lined the floor with thick plastic sheeting from the builders merchants (cost a few quid and covered the entire floor with 1 peice), I then covered the sheeting with a ton of the cheapest gravel I could find. I put a couple of fans in there to keep the air moving and have drastically reduced the mold problems. if you can run an extractor fan in there its highly reccomended, but not allways the easyest thing to do outdoors. if you have igh humidity in there and just run fans to circulate the air all you will be doing in evenly distrabuting the humid air around and can cause mold everywhere, top to bottom. however if you keep both ends of the polytunnel open and have your fans set at one end blowing through to the other this will help alot.
