New Grower Potting on autos

I have 7 plants in small pots under hps, 2 of these are 17 days since they germinated the other 5 are 10 days. Reason being the tent was still in use because the last lot (my first grow) ran on longer than I thought they would. Tonight they will get put into their final pots from what I have read it looks like I could of permanently damaged them by doing this, anyone have any advice? I read that the first 3 weeks is when the tap root goes down. Also a couple of them stretched can I plant them lower or should I keep same soil level?

Reduce the stress of transplant as much as possible. Prepare your new pots and then bury the current container in the new pot until the soil levels match or the current soil level is slightly lower. Then, twist the current container and pull it out, leaving a perfectly sized hole for the plant to slip into. Next, gently cut around the bottom of the current container with a new and sterilized razor blade; followed by 2-3 vertical cuts up the sides. GENTLY peel the old container off, sprinkle some mycorrhizae into the bottom of the hole and onto the sides of the hole or the exposed roots on the plant. Slip the plant into its perfectly sized hole and VERY gently tamp it down and give a very light watering along the point where the football meets the sides of the hole. Place it in a not terribly bright spot for 24 hours and she should be fine.

It’s always better to start autos in the same pot they will finish in. Just FYI.

Thanks! I got your reply a bit late, I will know more for next time. I did some of that though. Although they went back under the 600 hps. I was super careful, the 2 older plants had lots of roots showing and the other 5 did not. Im still learning so good experience. Do you think the 2 older ones will start to drive the tap roots down again? They had hit the pot and gone round in circles. I did check this morning and they all looked happy, and they are having their sleep now.
