New Grower preflowers?

hi all
ive got a question about preflowers...
ive got 5 autos in soil under 4x 100 w cfl's
and they'll be a month old on wednesday and
i was wondering when preflowers start to show??
ive read that flipping to 12/12 can help but didnt know when that should be done ...if at all.
thanks for any help.

Normally they start to show anywhere from about day 18 through day 25 but some can be a bit later. What strain are you growing?

i think its a cheese of some kind...ive got a load of the seeda from a friend...i grew one a while ago and it was fine...

Are you sure they are auto flowering seeds? I'd give them another week and if no pre flowers, I'd switch them to 12/12.

If you have to put the lights on 12/12 then its not an Auto. Auto's will flower under 20 hours of light or more.

Not if they aren't Autoflowers...That's why Muddy is suggesting 12/12 to identify that.

Are you saying will Auto's flower under 18/6? Yes they will flower under that light schedule but the reason I posted that is a photoperiod plant will not flower unless it is under 12/12. A true Auto will flower no matter what the lights are set on they flower on their own even if the lights are on 18/6 or 20/4.

I think most autos are still unstable and some contain more photo attributes than others. Its a balance between the two. So my logic tells me that if his pheno has more photo in it, and he flips it to 12/12, it may start flowering even if it is technically an auto. However, that doesn't mean that it will perform best in a 12/12 environment as there are other factors within the auto's genes that cause them to do best with 18/6 or more. To me the question is, should it go back to 18/6 after it starts flowering? And what happens to a photo that goes into 12/12 and then is switched after it begins flowering? Does it continue? Does any of this make any sense or am i stoned? lol

PS: a pic would be helpful as people have different opinions as to when flowering begins...
