Hydro Growing, Theres a bunch that do soil grows with it here. Where can I get calmag without having to go to a hydro store? The closest Hydro place is 2 hrs away, IT SUCKS!

That's what I always thought too until recently. During his experimenting with the new AN pH Perfect nutes, Jackal has had a lot of contact and discussion with AN. They consider growing in Pro Mix to be semi-hydro. I always ran hydro pH but AN recommends that when growing in Pro Mix, the pH should be around 6.2 instead of the 5.8 that would normally be used for hydro.

They know their stuff like no other. No comprise in their work. They are chemical wizards for sure..

Here's the recipe I've used in the past:

4 gallons Pro Mix
1 gallon worm castings
1 gallon perlite
4 tablespoons blood meal
4 tablespoons bone meal
8 tablespoons kelp meal
4 tablespoons epson salts
Dolomite lime or sulfur as needed to adjust the pH.

This makes approximately 6 gallons, enough for two 3 gallon pots. I also add 1/2 teaspoon of mycohorrizal fungi to each pot when I transplant.

I've moved away from this mix and am now using straight, unamended Pro Mix, mainly because I can't get bulk worm castings anymore. I'm now supplying all nutrients through feeding.

Wow, thanks everyone! Still dont have a mix recipe yet...lol I lose attention reading long crap, I have bipolar disorder, so if someone could just put ingrediants and how much I would appreciate it. This OF is just to hot and dry for my taste

ok semi, or not its hydro... spin it for there sales.

Its the easiest medium for a newbie or expert..IMO But with that said, you can rarely ever dial in a grow perfectly with just one grow of any strain, but keeping in certain parameters will always produce a good grow. Know your PH in and OUT the bottom.

It does seem that growing in Promix HB you need cal/mag... if your going the chem route or organic, so if your product is not supplementing for that, then grab some and use it, and know what to look for in deficiencies. Cal/mag deffecnceies are the easy to spot and correct.

I know, it's just semantics. But I do think they are on to something with the pH, especially after the results Jackal has gotten. I always went with 5.5 in veg and 5.8 in flower but I'm about to start another grow and will be going with 6.2 this time to see how much difference it does make.

View attachment 56833View attachment 56832 i put some of this 1/4 strength in the promix and have used it in soil for seedligs. it does not make it to hot. ialso dissolve this in my water and feed with a 8-0-0 nitrogen derived from mollasses.

I use blackstrap non sulphur organic molasses with every watering, so basicaly what your saying is that Im giving them cal/mag? And is there a dif between promix and BX? The true Value over here has reg pro mix in those huge bundles like peatmoss comes in
