Extraction Purge without vac?

So I have made wax but never the right way as I dont have a grand for a vac oven or 150 for a vac chamber quite yet. I usually just warm water purge til it stops bubbling and call it good. I know there still butane left in my wax so I was wondering if I shud try winterization with 95 percent ethyl alcohol to remove the remaining butane? I read that can kill terps tho so wondering what the best approach without a vac oven or vac chamber? Making small batches at a time. Only a foot long glass extractor from Amazon.

Can't help you mate, but I would be wary of using wax that has not been vac'ed. It is not the butane so much as it is the byproducts of high temperature vaporization, including benzene which is a pulmonary irritant and carcinogen.

OTOH, I don't have specific data that can clarify the risk levels, they may not be that high in reality. As always, there are the hypothetical risks, and the actual reality compared to the other stuff we get up to anyway.

As to vac chambers and pumps, a used pressure cooker can work a treat as a chamber, and can often be had for a few bucks at the local Value Village or equivalent. You could even cut a window in the lid and cover it with some lexan so you can see what is going on in there.

My vacuum pump is a re-purposed refrigerator compressor I found at the garbage dump and drive with a motor salvaged off a dead water pressure pump. I haven't used it for extracts, just other mischief like composite lamination and the like, but I expect that it would likely work fine.

With a bit of scrounging, you might be able to put a system together for cheap. I like cheap.

I'm not gonna be making shatter for long and I wont be smoking it. I plan to make hash in the future when I get the machine and bags off Amazon. Hash is safer.

Less expensive to make hash also. No expensive purge equipment. I'm not allowed to smoke wax anymore due to several collapsed lungs. So I feel ya. I might of had some bad wax throughout the years that fucked me up. So I dont want to do that to other ppl either. Maybe I'll just make it once and be done with it and buy some hash making stuff instead. I dislike butane being used. Water and ice is way more safe in my opinion. And I have always loved me some bubble hash. I wanna make 1 gram hash pucks when I start doing that. Me loves the hash pucks more than weed itself. Lol
