Kill them or Seed Run them ?


Here are four of the PA’s that have just shown sex. Day 38, I have 2 males. They all look very similar so I will assume they are PA’s. The fifth one was uprooted as a baby by bad weather and I’m surprised it survived, has been weak since, just showing female. I had heavy rain early this am and it was flattened, propped her up again. I am waiting for an email back from the supplier to check what freebies were sent, but I doubt they’re gonna know for sure.


So assuming they’re all PA’s... I can,


A. Kill the males and get on with the females, or
B. Go for a seed run


I’m leaning towards B. How often do “feminized” seeds turn out to be males ? How long do I have to make this decision before they will pollinate the females anyway ?

I would contact ShortStuff also.
I am not sure what method they are using for feminizing, but I do know that they are serious about their product.
And that if seeds that were sold/given to you labeled fem SS APA produced male plants, they would want to know.
It could be a seed mix up, or they may have a batch they need to track.

Given the unknowns I would kill the "males".

Thanks Grey Bear, just sent SS an email. Jim got back to me overnight and confirmed that they were indeed PA's sent and he too is concerned and stated that this is very strange. So I guess he'll contact SS too. so now i have a known, I am grow two of the females out, kill one male and seed one female.

Ok mystery now solved. There was a screw up with packaging, I got a APA bag but not APA seeds lol. All is good I am being looked after by Shortstuff :Cool bud:. They are now mystery plants lol, how exciting to wait and see what they are !

Yes you are right GB.. unknowns, so executions are done. SS have been great, very apologetic and are going to supply me with more seeds.

WOW VD....I'm concerned about you getting males..I just ordered some PA's from Short Stuff...I'm working on my next(2nd) grow.Was planning 2 PA's and 2 Blackberry Kush..Figure that will fill my 4x4 tent..

Don't be concerned HD... there was a packaging error on my order. Shortstuff have been really apologetic and helpful and are going to send me more seeds. Hot Damn VD..Glad to hear that info..I just recieved my beans yesturday and ordered some smart pots to try..My 1st grow is still going..I think well for the most part..But working out a plan still for the PA's and Blackberrys..

Now here's a question...So can I get straight from a bean CO.? I've been dealing with a bank..But only getting less than five of each...How/can I change that and is it cost affective?

I am sure you'll be fine Need4, mine was a one off packaging mistake, they sell 1000's of beans with good reputation. The concern they showed for their product and their response to me tells me they have integrity. I didn't order through Herbies.
