The title says it all lol
I’m about to upgrade my lights, and there seem to be so much info out there, I’m down to either Cobs or quantum board LEDs.
What is the difference and which ones are better for the tent.
I have a 2x4x5 tent and a 3x4x6 tent.
Any advice/info is welcome!!

Both are awesome, I run both. My lighting is 2 6500k cobs for veg and extra terp production during flower and I have 4 qb boards also along with 2 Mars cobs in a photo tent. I can't complain about a single one. Also when mixing lights you get a broader range of light, which imo is the best. Also with cobs you can adjust to each plants likings. So say you have a stretchy sativas next to a short indica and have to raise a light you can do just the one for sativas and leave indica alone. You can do the same with qb but you have to buy separate boards. Which gets expensive compared to just buying one that fits the tent. Also the cobs just have something about them that the plants just love.

I prefer quantum boards style lights because of the amount of diodes vs a single cob for more even lighting. They are less expensive to start with as well.

There is budgetled.com horticulturelightinggroup.com spider-farmer.com

You'll want about 240 watts in your 2x4 space and about 360 watts in your 3x4 space. I like 3000k all the way through but others prefer 3500k.

Otherwise there is meiju and kingsbrite for Chinese manufacturers.

I have 2 optic 1 cobs in one tent and
2 of the new 260 watt h chip q.b.'s with the rspec in another tent
The qbs are bright as crap. the way the chips are spread out is better For my sog i run and i like having the dimmer option.
I think they take more room to hang if u use factory mounting cables
The cobs are great to, they have more penetration thru the canopy but only in a smaller area. great for individual Plants easier to adjust .
They both are really great. Really depends on your grow style on wich to choose or choose both..if i absolutely had to choose i would go q.b.

Running two HLG 96 engines in my 2x4x5. Each has its own HLG185 driver. Amazing and if you put it together yourself it’s cheaper. Love them lights and man are they bright and powerful.

I've been slowly changing and hopefully improving my tent lights for a year or so now and being a retired nuclear inspector with growing my medicine being my only hobby, I couldn't help but noticing my plants reactions to each light as I added them. I've used hps for 14 yrs and have been pleased with new light offerings.
I started buying leds, then an autocob, then a rapidled 75w cob, another led....and my grows improved with each addition.
An early christmas gift has me upgrading again! I replaced the two LEDs with a 150w qb to run alongside the two cobs.
I currently have 5 plants in various stages of flower in my tent and all have shown dramatic response to the qb addition, much more than anything else I've added.
I like the cobs for their adjustability but the qb is the horse...imho.
