sup guys,
i would like some input here, currently have a 4 x 8 x 7 foot grow tent, The exhaust is just a four inch 180cfm with a generic carbon scrubber (this carbon filter is over a year old now).

I am noticing now the smell. I know for a fact the carbon filter is shot, its pretty much worthless. I been thinking about going with a 6 inch windtunnel with a phresh filter but them two items i am looking at about $320 bucks.

I was wondering if you guys think the 4 inch i currently have and add a new 4 inch phresh filter would work just as good? Which would save me some money that is for sure.

Let me know your thoughts and opinions.

Also the 4 inch setup was from my old 2 x 4 foot tent.

Well it really depends on what you plan on doing an if you plan on continually growing if you constantly have a grow going I would go with the more expensive and longer lasting set up if not i would go with the cheaper and more short term fix honestly though the four inch exhaust is plenty for a tent that size so ultimately just getting a new and improved filter is what I would do

You've got about 224 cubic feet so that 180 cfm fan is going to turn it over about every minute and a half. I would think that should be sufficient as long as you're able to keep your temps in check. I would be inclined to just go with a new filter.

$320 sounds a bit high for a 6" fan and filter. Check these:

$150 for both. I have two of their 4" fans and have been using the Phat filter for 2 1/2 years and it's still going strong.
