Questions for the experienced rosin pressers, About leftover pucks ,please/thank you

Regarding "Finally, wrapped well and freeze , until later when I make the cookies:" If a goal is to make harder, higher melting point, etc. gummies, besides starting with gelatin with desired characteristics, you might try cooling them slower at room temperature then in the refrigerator, let a firmer/stiffer gel form, then freeze it. Slower gelling could allow stratification, such as impurities concentrating in bottom or top layers. And you might consider using common plant-derived thickeners. Maybe experienced gummy makers could comment on this.

Some with dietary restrictions should be aware that food-grade gelatin(e) is an animal-derived protein from boiling down pig/porcine (or cow/bovine) tissues.
 
So I guess you lose some in the process, butter I guess, the new canna butters aren't as big
I was going to make a batch of cookies using 2 stick, which it calls for, but these are short a little and I would think that would affect the recipe in general as far as parts per.,.,.,

SO, looks like a regular stick of butter ,of course 1/2 cup, box says 16oz. , each stick weights close to 4g

SO , there for to keep the recipe correct, im thinking I should go by weight with the canna butter , so to keep with the ingredients protions
does this sound right to you folks ?

my canna butter shrunk some, there's loss I guess.
I can use 2 sticks and add the difference in weight of regular butter ,or get from the third stick to make all canna butter (im scared)
hoping ill be close to what it should be in portion required

im over thinking it , but you dont want crappy cookies, these may turn out green,LOL
 
I ended up using one and a half sticks of the canna butter (half of what I made), for this batch
so if works (it does) I would have the same amount for another batch later.

Well, first night I tried 2 and could feel it ,not bad
second night I tried 4 and REALLY felt it !! yeah

Ive never had good luck with edibles, these are probably the best so far !!
Im psyched !!!!! I wasn't sure what I was going to do with all my pucks, was thinking they were going to get waisted.
I also think there was still some goodness left on the pucks after the infusion/extraction ,I think I can do better next time.

I made some test hard candy, was pretty simple, came out GOOD (I can do better)
So I made me some (looks strong) infused coconut oil, nice and clean/clear = used 9 Night Queen rosin pucks (5-10 grams each)
need to make some canna candy/lollipops , hoping will be strong and one will set you right (?)
using Night Queen rosin pucks, the cookies are Frickin GREAT ! so hoping for same kind of results with candy (?)
These pucks ,I think still have PLENTY left in them !!

Yessir, I pressed/strained it once with cheese cloth and a second time with a fine coffee filter to catch the last of the undesirable.
With the butter it seems to settle to the bottom after formed , then I re-warm to melt down and mix real good and re-mold
no nasty the second time, and yes any water is at bottom too.
 
Well, canna lollipops , Tricky , At one point I thought I was going to lose it all, and remembered to throw a dash of Sunflower lecithin, so it combines together I guess, so I hurried up and ?? who knows, it seems to have come together, ill have to try one another time when I haven't been smoking OR eating little scrap bits., and I think im feeling it from those bits!!, Hoping one lollipop will do the trick, there's about a 1/4 cup of what I think is strong infused oil in there. Worst part all the sugar !! But there is more in the cookies lol. Good with the bad I guess.

One option, is to just buy gummy bears, melt them in a double boiler, add your rosin, and remold them…
yup, if I could find carb/sugar free gummies, that is exactly what I would do. For those not on keto, this would work a treat.:worship:
