Lighting Quick question

Get a LUX meter for 10€, if you're using 3000K 80CRI Veros, divide by 69. That's your umol/s.
278 umol/s is 1 DLI.
Get around 25-35 DLI. The higher, the more difficult is to maintain proper health of plants. But 25-30 DLI can handle like easy cake. At least mine.
what about cree and citizen? I have lux meter and I wanna try what you saying

The light meter you have @Tony21 what is it good for? So you can know how far away you gonna keep your plants ? How much does it cost, i definitely wish i had one of those.

It's an Apogee MQ-500, it measures PAR and can calculate DLI, and also 3 lightscouts but how accurate and useful they are with LED light I'm not sure yet. Dunno cost here in EU, got through at friend in the states, 430 euro total, more than double here I think. Google it
And nobody know what is optimal numbers for auto's, so it's longtime look and see. The PAR numbers are change a lot with angle and just centimetres difference. It's just indications, there's no hard science I know, for me it's about power saving, why overdose haha

Forgot to say, there's also accessories needed to use it accurately and a rock solid stand is needed, if you're handy i suppose something can be rigged up, and it's a 2 man job to make easy, easier measurements in exactly the same spot.

I don't know, first step is measuring how much they're getting. And depending where the sensor is located, within centimeters and a degree of angle, that changes, a lot. . I'm not even sure how useful light meters are except maybe for flat canopy crops like lettuce, or maybe Dutch style clone growing, for auto's someone should find out haha
Just like center of gravity, there should be a PAR center, or PARC, all strain descriptions should include PARC location and razor sharp DLI numbers haha how about that breeders, how many of you even have a PAR meter hahahaha

I've just harvested a plant that got plus 60 DLI, max reading, around the perimeter, but I think way more actually, dropping to less than 15 further down to less than 5 where there is still some mass to the buds, not much difference, can DLI de distributed around a plant, who knows

A bit over 1,4 m tall and 2 kg trimmed wet buds now drying in 86 days with dli numbers all over the show, go figure

Yea, it's easier in my case as I use SCROG. I set lights at X height, so corners of the tent gets at least 80% light. So that way I know for sure I have the same coverage and pretty much the same umol/s. So each cola in SCROG get the same number of photons.

Here's some bud shots, they look alright to me, but I haven't grown white widows before, so could be a fluke and nothing to do with the light dosage, at least the white part makes sense, I truly thought it was all covered in mold when looking yesterday morning. If it smokes as well as it looks, something must be right, and it could be that elusive real pound plant, yeah the 500 g pound variety haha
