Quick view of inside of bud

Hi guys,

Since I have suffered from white mold a lot in the past, I thought in my paranio I would ask your thoughts. Normally the mold starts part way through drying/curing and not chopping... I have changed how I dry and no longer get this.

However this harvest one bud was particularly big and I noticed a white discoloration in the bud centre - since I paper bag dry now and had to chop it up.. it looks just part of the plant, and I think has gotten less white a few hours after harvesting.

Any and all opinions are gratefully recieved.

Oh, the strain is an old english seeds big daddy.

Does it smell pungent and musty? Doesn't look like mold to me but hey I could be wrong. Let's hope it isn't.

A 30x jeweller's loupe would come in handy here!

No its smells just like weed, it doesnt smell musty/powdery like I have had in the past.

Oh a pick of before harvesting if anyone is interested - she is in a 3 liter pot, grew about a foot high. Erm I did chop off about 3 branches as I ran out of other bud.

mjdregba, It looks like the inside of all of the fresh buds I've opened up looking for rot. I think the inside so pale because the light does not penetrate the interior. I have been using Serenade by Bayer to pevent mold and rot. Good luck!

Thanks jackmc, it was probably the fatest and tightest bud I have ever grown so was nervous. Will report back in five days )

mj'- ​...hard to tell from that pic, but there's no mistaking mold from both odor and looks; usually it's a pale tan-ish color, powdery appearance, often with super fine strands woven inside, and the calyxes and leaves often yellow out, affected tissues are soft, crumbly,... dense bud is more vulnerable to mold, and is very strain dependent too,... High RH during final ripening, and initial drying can promote it as well,... Jack makes a good point too, about pale color deep inside, typical of dense bud.... I'm leaning toward this being the case here!...

Thanks Waira, they are dry now and not a sign of mold on them - just me being overly cautious.

Until I swapped to paper bag drying I used to get mold part way through the drying process (due to environmental conditions) and am now paranoid as hell - must of lost over 10 ounces in total over time (I semi-micro grow for personal use only, so 10 oz hurts ).
