Mephisto Genetics Quietest strains?

i did alot of research on this also and the 2 i was told you dont need a filter for was Northern Cheese Haze and Fugue State

It’s a 4” cage fan and charcoal filter. Most of the time it works perfect. When humidity hits 80%+ it smells. Not a lot, but enough to see what my choices are. Maybe I should stick to 1 at a time?
It still sounds like the problem is the filter simply not working properly. Humidity shouldn't shut down a charcoal air filter. When was the last time you replaced the filter? Are you sure the problem isn't something as simple as a leak, a bad seal?

You have an 'air scrubber' problem. Any kind of 'air scrubber' that can't handle the stink from just a few plants is just not working - either defective, clogged/full from use, or not hooked-up properly. Even the cheapest filter system should handle a few plants with no problem (for a while).

What kink of scrubber and ventilation system(s) are you running.

that's what I was thinking too.

Double grape wasn’t very loud if u touched her you’d get a good smell on your fingers but she didn’t stink up the joint.

This. I haven't grown many of the strains (yet!), but I don't recall it being too loud when I opened the doors.

It doesn't smell much at all. My Sour Stompers reek like Artificial Grape! They are flushing now. I just harvested a couple of Double Grapes. I have done many of them, and I have stated each time that it is not a good name if you expect Grape smell. It is a great strain, very low odor...not like Grape

I agree, of course I haven't harvested it mulitple times, but the one that did harvest several months back has zero grape aroma. It is fully cured, at 59%rh, in jars in a dark space, and upon opening those jars you will get no grape aroma. At times I think maybe there is, but I am certain it is the power of suggestion.

I hadn't grown before but I just bought a quantum board grow light from Timber, a tent, a carbon filter, some fans for the intake and out-take and a fan to put in the tent. I like the idea of autoflowers but I am worried about odor of marijuana in my house. I own my own house and am in it by myself and am a homebody but neither my state nor my family is marijuana-friendly and i don't want my house to smell like marijuana if they come around and I don't want that odor on me as I interact with the plants.

I saw from their official website that Northern Lights Cheese and Fugue State are lower on odor. I was researching the lower odor strains for my first grow and I consistently get that Northern Lights and strains with Northern Lights in them are lower odor strains that along with the typical marijuana odor inherent to almost all marijuana can smell either generically floral or more like a pine needles and lemon and lime citrus fruits if it is the lower odor sort of Northern Lights. That was the strain I was first drawn to but the Cheese in it has me concerned because that sounds quite aromatic so it appears as though the strain was at cross purposes on odor.

My initial thinking was that the Cheese would be added to make the strain "louder," that is, more aromatic, but it appears as though the total package of aroma is milder, at least in comparison to other marijuana strains, especially ones that are deliberately supposed to be funky. No OG and Chemdogging for me for now, thank you, ladies and gentlemen.

What do you suppose would be a good strain for a first time grower who has no experience? Both the Fugue State and the Northern Lights Cheese are the two I am considering. The Fantasmo Express might be on the table, too, but I am concerned of OG odors (not quite sure what that is, but it seems like that generalized marijuana odor is stronger) as well as the lemon and lime aromas. Would you consider that low odor or would the others be lower odor, probably? Thank you for your help already, this website has friendly and knowledgeable people sending out more good information than almost anybody can take in. Its analysis paralysis, I guess.

With a sufficient carbon filter/ventilation system, there simply shouldn't be any smell outside the tent; particularly if you are selecting strains known for having low stink.

If you really want to be prepared, maybe get some Ona Gel or some other covering odorant in case of a power failure.
