Mephisto Genetics Raoul-Duke turns Meph Head - New Artisinals

Just ordered some neem oil. If I find out it is root aphids, I will be your guinea pig.

Did you order it from Amazon? The garden grade neem oil is banned in Canada. The healthcare products like what I got from amazon.ca are still available and from what I can tell its the same shit as the stuff marketed for gardening. I mixed my neem oil with the optic foliar products. I have no idea if it worked either.

I ended up getting mosquito dunks from a local hydro store. You can't get the mosquito bits in Canada which is 2.85% Bti. The dunks are 10.1% Bti so they are stronger anyway. I think this is better than neem oil. I watered in the crushed dunks and their built in Bti in to my pots. Nuked that larvae. then I put a layer of sand on top of my grow medium to make sure adult flyers can't get back in to the medium to lay more eggs. Since I did all this last weekend I see no signs of bugs. I have the sticky paper and no adult flyers found anywhere on the sticky traps. And i put some potato chunks in the medium to see if larvae would go after them and there is nothing on them either. Pretty sure this eradicated the bugs.

Going forward I'm going to put something in my pots full of coco for each grow. Maybe DE. Or maybe crushed up mosquito dunks. Something that prevents any bug larvae from setting up shop in the roots and causing root rot etc.

Ya, got it from Amazon. Advertised as a health care product but seems to be the same shit.

Would I be right or wrong to think that this wouldn't be a good idea for use in a true living soil as it would affect nitrogen fixing nematode populations ?

It seems this oil is good for lots of things :coffee: interesting stuff
Same with diatomaceous earth. Human grade can be used for many things including deworming pets. It has also been discussed with helping reduce tinnitus. Can be used by humans as a cleanse and also to lower the acidity in your body if you have an acidic ph. And many more things

I say this with a very heavy heart, unfortunately it's time to close up shop for a bit. Too many things are happening right now in life and I simply can't deal with the stress and paranoia anymore. I've got an upset neighbour, because I smoke cigarettes at the side of the house, who's threatening to have me kicked out of my apparently illegal basement apartment; and my landlord tells me more people will be entering the apartment for appraisals or whatever in the near future, as well as having our windows replaced some time after winter. The wife and I are also planning(hopefully) to find our own house soon. So in order to relieve my stress and because it's probably the safe thing to do right now, I'm going to be taking down my setup until we find our new place.

I really appreciate all the comments and suggestions, and I love this community so much, so don't worry you'll still see me around stalking some of your threads.

I'll put some pics up real soon of how they got along. The CDLC looks like she's about to go into over drive.

Cheers, until we meet again.

Your friend Raoul-Duke

P.S. We can't stop here, this is bat country!

I went digging around in the dirt, I found no bugs and no indications that bugs were ever there. Roots seemed really healthy, nice and white. The roots were a little thin though. I also noticed each plant's tap root was very short. I noticed something on the 4AM that I didn't catch on the other 2, the tap root stopped at a growstone and then branched out its roots. This makes me wonder if maybe the roots were running into the growstones, causing the slow growth. So I have some new tests to run when I get back up and running.

Anyway here are the pics. CDLC looks like she was about to take off. The root pics are of the Cosmic Queen but they were all fairly similar.

Thanks for coming along for the ride. I'll be around.
