Given the transplant shock with my other grow (Blueberry Skunk), decided to go with the sage advice that I got here and went with a rooter in a solo cup (thanks to @St. Tom ).

However, noticed something a bit strange - it's been only 36 hours since I put the germinated seed into the rapid rooter and when I was transplanting it from the germination tray to the solo cup, I noticed that the tap root had grown all the way through the bottom of the rooter and the tip (0.5 cm) of the root had turned dark brown :(

I still went ahead and moved it to a solo cup. I would like to better understand the consequences of the tap root issue - If the tap root doesn't grow beyond the part where it has turned dark brown, does that mean it will result in a stunted plant? This would be a real shame - can't believe that root has grown so quickly.

Lesson learnt is that going forward, I will have not use a germination tray, but have the rooter sit in a solo cup with coco/perlite right from the start.
