I am on my first grow and I have 2 auto plants that are on day 62 that have had what look like nutrient deficiencies and I think the plants would be ready to harvest in the next 1-2 weeks. I did a lot of defoliating to improve air flow but the 2 plants have lots of bad looking leaves that have curled up and some are yellow or brown and I think I may have removed more leaves than was good as I think the plants have stunted as I have not seen many new leaves after the defoliation a week or 2 ago on there. You can view it in these images. You may be able to zoom in if you need on there.

Would you remove these leaves or leave the leaves on until harvest then trim it when I dry trim the buds on there? Would it make any problems to leave the leaves that look that bad on the buds like would it affect the buds to leave the bad looking leaves on there? Do you think the deficiencies would affect the quality of the bud or only the yield? Do you think it would be fine to smoke it? I am not really trying to fix anything on the plants as I think they only have like 1-2 weeks left to harvest and I am just trying to get the 2 plants to harvest now on there.

wow, that's been going sideways for a while, right? No info on your feeds and details, medium, etc.,...... looks long term starved, or overfed 9this advanced it's difficult to tell damage is that bad), and/or off pH in the pot,... this late in the game, not much you can do... don't bomb her with feeds now it's too late, she's hardly feeding now anyway,...
trim away all the garbage leaves before drying,... yes, poor nutrition will badly affect bud quality...you'll see what the smoke is like soon enough...

Thanks. Then you recommend keep watering it with water with calmag until the trichomes look like it is time to harvest it? Would you wait to trim the bad looking leaves when I harvest it? If it would affect the quality it would not be a problem to smoke it right? Would it be fine to smoke it but it may not be as strong or taste as good for it on there?

They aren't deficient. They are heavily over fed and locked out. @Waira, he's had a few posts , since early flower or late veg I think. So a few of us have been kinda watching from the side and giving advice when asked. I think this is coco, that's been heavy top dressed with Dr. Earth base and flower mix, calmag added, I think recharge, and they aren't watered to run off. @the123321 let me know if that's about right.

The "Veg" stage of plant growth is when the plant focuses on growing "vegetation". Vegetation means "leaves". Once the plant goes into "flower" it focuses solely on growing "flowers". Flowers on a cannabis plant are the "buds". So if you pull off leaves while the plant is in flower, you won't see any new leaves growing back to replace them. The plant is no longer focused on making leaves.

I would stop feeding those plants at this point. The quality of the bud has been effected already like Waira said, and I wouldn't want to make it any worse this close to chop. I would even consider chopping early. Like today. Because I can't see anything improving visually in the next week or two. Because as it gets worse, the quality of the bud will also get worse.

Thanks. I am not sure how the plants are heavily overfed as I only put in like 1/4 cup of the dry amendments in the 3 gallon pot when I planted it top dressed twice with like 1/8 cup 1 time at 30 days then I did a flush around day 40 then I noticed deficiencies around day 50 and did a top dressing of like 1/8 cup then. I made mistakes and learned from it. I was growing with organic nutrients with microbes and did not water to runoff. I looked at the trichomes today and they do not look ready for harvest. Would the trichomes not get more to where you want them to be if I wait? Even if the buds do not get bigger would it not be better to wait a week or 2 for the trichomes to get better for harvest on there? I am not feeding the plants only water with the calmag in the water for it on there.

In order for the trichomes to improve the plant must be producing energy from photosynthesis or be moving it from green leaves where energy is stored. Looking at the pictures would lead me to believe you have neither leaves producing or having stored energy. Consequently it is not likely for your plants to improve the trichomes.

Start thinking about what you have learned to improve the next grow.

:goodluck:

Thanks. I have learned from the mistakes on this 1 that I think would make the next 1 work on there.
