I have to cobble together a combo of kits and parts from autopots and I am looking at the res now.

I ideally will only grow 4 plants. And I'd like to split that in half from a system perspective. So I think I need to have 4 pots, but 2 res and 2 aquavalves.

First question I have is how long would you want your res to last? I know you can reduce the fluid you add if you dont want to fill it right up. But how many days do you want an autopot res to last?

And how big of a res would you want for 2 plants to last that long?

I rarely filled my 12 gal res up completely. The use by 2 plants unless or until the peak of growth is roughly .5 - 1.5L per day per plant. I could easily go 7 days on 10 gallons until I reached the peak of growth/start of flower. Your results may vary.

I have a two pot system and I ordered an extra res so this current grow I am placing each pot on it's own res.

How many liters per week would be required for 1 plant during flowering or peak consumption with autopots?

It's possible that I have smaller reservoir than 47L? I put in 2 buckets which are 10L... and reservoir is 3/4 full. Today makes me wonder that...

I'm not sure there is any standard here. It's dependent on the strain, the plants size and many other factors that would equate to a wide variation.

@Screwauger

Not looking for a standard per se. I know that would not be really possible because of variables. Hoping to just get a generally can't go wrong res size for two plants. If thats even possible.

Ok well, I have the standard (kitchen trash can sized) res which is 47L/12gal.

On my initial grow I had two plants in a scrog both on the same 12 gal res.
For the entire grow, I never filled the res to the 12 gal capacity, 10 gallons max.
At the peak of growth in late veg early flower, 10 gal would last approx 7 days.
That is approx 1.5 (1.43) gallons/day for both plants or; .7 gallons per day per plant.
The remainder of your grow will likely not see the girls drinking at that rate.
Hope these are helpful Estimations. @lunarman
