Hey everybody, well this is the start of my second grow and although i maybe slighter eager i just thought I'd run a diary online for them.
I currently have a 60x60x140 Black Orchid tent and 5 x 25w cfl's, waiting on a 135w(allegedly) R/B led light. Alongside a 100mmRhino filter an 100mm intake for circulation. I have grilles over the ducting to reduce noise and regulate intake.

It's currently growing my baby Grape Muerte's, who i had to move into the tent mid grow, and also a White Rhino whom I've lst'd and fim'd as a sideshow plant. I have never grown a thing before so i feel I need a tester :)

As the Auto Grapes have been flowering for a few weeks now, I thought I should at least start with my new babies.
Hopefully my led shall be here in a week and by then i should start to see some life.
Due to some mix up i have some Royal Queen Cheese for my next grow so i am going to stick to just 3 autos on this grow, in 30cm fabric pots with Verve ericaceous soil and have got some liquid ericaceous plant feed and Tomorite for flowering.
I am planning to get some different soil and ferts but all have been alright with the Grapes so far so im going to stick to this for the moment and until i can afford some better soil and feed.

Hope you enjoy the side show! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376003842.295000.jpg

Sure gonna be nice to watch your Grape Muerte's flower, as you know i got me some of these beans. Unfortunately it will be a few weeks before I can start them. They will be grown alongside some Candy Kush auto's which have the same approximate finish height.

I would great if you could supply the height of the Grape Muerte as I am interested to see if they keep to the 50cm stated by Barney's.

Also looking forward to the smoke report.

Can I ask why you are going to use Ericaceous soil (for acid loving plants)?

Generally ericaceous soil will have a ph of 5.5 or lower. Cannabis generally prefers a ph around 6.3-6.8.

What type of soil are you using for your Grape Muerte?

subbed for this grow!

Have a good grow

Peace

I admit I might need some help with the understanding of my soil ph but at the moment im using plain peat free tomato compost out of a planter, im stuck budgeting lol but it seems fine so far, the current ph of my Grapes is 7.5 distilled water with 6.3 runoff, if someone could help understand me soil ph that would be wicked, i honestly was on the assumption they preferred ericaceous soil? It's been a hectic few days so i might just of had a blonde moment and got confused... Help anyone? I have some perlite to add as well as the Grapes are just in the planter compost.

And no, Barney's are close and also, i had one plant outgrow my 60cm high DIY box, so that one could of possible grown more, but shortest roughly is 55-60, tallest nearly 70? An i reckon in better conditions, she would of gone higher. That one was also a slow starter and was very short up until a few weeks when she shot up, outgrowing my box, the other two just gradually grew at the same pace an also look to be flowering less intensely then the taller one, which seems to be growing quite close dense buds all over, the other 2 have no similar look yet... Flowering nicely on tops but not as strongly.

As you can see for yourself, height and flowering, from the picture above and yes she is leaning a bit, happened when she outgrew the box :)

Ok, right well i must say thank you Growerz, i indeed made a cock up... Seeing as the Anesthesia seeds are on,y a day in ill dig them out of the peat pots and replant in the peat free grow bag compost i have. I would prefer something nicer for them..

thanks for the Grape Muerte height , I imagined they would go higher given the right circum stances.

cannabis like soil between 6.3 & 6,8 ph so your run of come in to that zone.

ericaceous soil not recomended, for a fairly in expensive potting soil J Arthur Bowers is a good choice , there's a write up on the forums somewhere.

Perlite is expanded volcanic rock , whhich as good air and water holding qualities. Cannabis likes a nice airy mix and geting oxygen to the roots is very beneficial and important for nice healthy plants.
I use a ratio of about 3 parts soil to one part perlite and that works for me, others may use a different ratio.

There is a hydro method of growing cannabis call the Hempy method developed by a grower called "Hempy" . In this methos a mix of perlite and vermiculite are mixed to gether and it has a small reservoir at the bottom of a bout an inch or so.
I mention this just so you can see that cannabis is quite happy in an airy enviroment. You can read more about it in the forums.

J Arthur Bowers multi purpose compost runs at about 3.50 GBP i'm in the uk, not sure about you. If you in the US I'm sure someone will know of a cheap compost you can use.

Don't use the ericaceous compost it is for acid loving plants like camelias and rhoderdendrons.

Using distiled water is not nescessary , I use tap water (if you do PH test it first) my ph is fine.It is more likely to have a nice bit of calcium in it especially in a hard water area ,like mine.
That is just my opinion, if you happy with distilled anf you get good result , carry on.

Some people like to let thier water to stand a while so that any chlorine can gas off. Personally I don't and both myself and my plant have drunk it with no adverese effects.

Peace

Lol see i was going to get some vermiculite from b&q but got the soil instead, knew i made a mix up haha. Ah bugger well back to the estate i go. S do you have any idea what my soil ph is if my water PBS are those? Ie seen the bloody topic some where here or on another site explaining but just can't find it when I need it lol and yeah im in the westcountry.

I've changed the soil over to the peat free stuff as to be honest, they've been looking great so far so hopefully should be alright for the next grow? And yeah I will end up getting the Grape Muerte's again to grow in this tent, they can maybe reach a meter i reckon ;)

Oh an sorry, i used the wrong word. Mine is just bottled from the tap and left to air for a few days, the waters not too bad here but i had a lot of empty containers at the time so i didn't mind lol

Oh and my Rhino its only 5.7 run off, but i do have some new feed, although thats for ericaceous plant feed, is that gonna be alright...? Lol
