Harvest & Curing Removing fan leaves during flush???

so what are your feelings on box cutting fan leaves in combination with tucking for example and not removing any?

i feel it would be better then cutting them off completely , but the only time id do it is when cutting clones

if given the time you would be soooo surprised at how much extra weight a plant puts on , and thats after trichomes amber up , the plant and trichomes dont degenerate , the plants will actually continue producing trichomes beyond the first amber ones

my point is this , let the plant go 3 weeks longer then you normally do (maybe not 3 weeks with a fast auto , try 10 days or so) , and do so WITH its leaves on , you will be shocked by the extra bulk/weight

The OP asked the question, If he wants to challenge Epic that's fine it's his thread..but to any one trolling Epic well that's A violation of the rules....The mans killed more plants then you'v probably grown.............

Don't make me use this

And to the rest of us all

I'm not trolling, b0b is the knowledge around here and I'd rather be with the information than without it. All I have is my personal experience and what's posted on this forum and if they conflict or differ then there's reason for discussion so the group as a whole gains. Forget what happened earlier, that's buried and I was able to voice my opinion and left it there. I know Epic has absolutely killed more plants than I've thought of growing because I've heard it here. I take AFN's word for it because you all have always pointed me in the right direction and the information given has worked, so I trust the group consensus.

it did appear like you came in to troll gbd , maybe due to the earlier drama , im glad you havent though

i may be outspoken and blunt , but im also honest , and i only post where i know what im talking about , you dont see me posting in the led section/threads do you , thats because i have no/limited experience with them

i might be harsh at times , its because im very passionate , but im also experienced due to mistakes and improvements over the years , i try my best to help others avoid the mistakes ive made

peace

I've seen you say you've proven this very thing before and I just wanted to know what the proof was. 'Nuff said' made it sound like it's open and shut and that discussion was pointless. I feel like anything I say to you right now could be interpreted as trolling so get the troll spray ready. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I really have gained from your posts. Peace.

P.S.- I'm forever grateful for you for your colloidal silver info. Instead of giving me a fish you've taught me how to fish, and I'm headed out to sea now.

when i say "nuff said" its due to either ive already said it all many times already so i dont need to say anymore , or just simply because ive said all i need to

ive posted my side by side results , ive posted scientific/biology/horticultural proof , and done so many many times over the years , including on this site

even though someone else posted earlier that rosey claims its good to get light to the buds , if you read recent links posted of articles done by rosey you will see he is being somewhat sarcastic about the people saying pull fan leaves , he posts arguments done by both sides and makes the claim that what is said is their opinions and not nesessarilly his own

peace

I wasnt talking about having the lower ones get bigger per say man.I ment more that they seem to spin up a little nicer and happen to be small still ,just a little tighter.and instead of me having little airy flowers to pull n trim off most of the time for oils n such,I have some small popcorners ta smoke on.But if I take many of my plants at around 10-30% Amber.so your saying I should try and let one go for an extra 10 days to 3 weeks with the leaves on ofcourse...? ok ill give that a shot with one of my autos this grow.ill play(as I normally would)with all of em as I do n leave one fully leafed..lol.yeah Ive always used Tucking, boxing ,and plucking to maintain the best result for me n Im happy, but if ya say for a FACT I can get better yeilds with my T-5's and pretty much everything else..yes?soo,ill give it a no shit, honest try in a few weeks when they start gettin a wee bit bigger."AFN smoke out"its admittedly been a bit since Ive done that, but I have done my own small trial.but I have been growing a little longer now..so...:peace:

"Growing in small spaces with powerful lights and different mediums to recreate only the positive natural conditions in a more intense way to produce more bud faster."

That was the basic description I read somewhere about what indoor growers are doing and having become a leaf trimmer by necessity rather than desire I'm always wondering what would have happened if I left it alone in my small space. Some day I'll have enough smokes in reserve to get the smallest possible strain of plant going and just let it do it's thing but until I can I've come up with a few questions I've not been able to find answers to;

1. If canna plants have evolved and flourished over the many years they have existed could they still find it beneficial to recreate natural cropping of their fan leaves by animals? Deer have been observed to avoid cannabis plants they have previously eaten the leaves from, possibly due to increased resin production by the plant as a natural defense mechanism which I found quite interesting.

2. Would this apply to autoflowers if it was true, i.e. are they at all different other than their sensitivity to light? I FIM'd and topped my NL Auto scrog (first grow) after much deliberation (totally due to my noobishness, letting it get well out of hand and panic!) and though I got a fair haul in the end I still keep thinking what if I hadn't?

3. With the legalization in some states in the US allowing much more scientific research specifically for cannabis to be funded and the advances in lighting/heat allowing more people to grow in much smaller spaces should we all be more open minded to adapting our methods as new results come in? I'm finding it interesting checking out commercial hydroponic urban farm growers who have switched to led recently, there is a lot of info out there on how they have adapted to the new lights and are now getting the yields back up to what they did with HPS, having used the financial resources they freed up from energy costs to research and develop nutes/heating/airflow and loads of other stuff. There's a ton of information out there that we can use but it's mind melting trying to find it amongst the google crap lol.

So I'm not trolling here, the first two are proper questions and the third is a question and an opinion in one, cheers!

good shout bilbo...
the article i read about removing fan leaves also said that a good way to test remaining nute content of the plant after the final flush was to snap off a leaf and taste the juice...if its bitter then still has lots of nutes in it.if it tastes of water then its properly flushed.....
if thats right thats a great trick!!!!
im with u bilbo...just cos people do things one way it dont make them the best way.

have you ever grown outdoors ? if so have you noticed the plants that get eaten by deer etc do not do as well as the plants that somehow got lucky enough to of not been attacked ?

plants grow leaves for reasons , if the plant no longer needs a leaf it will discard it on its own , when we go pulling off leaves we create stress within the plant , the plant in turn releases a stress hormone within itself

the proven scientific evidence is all out there in black n white to see , as is experience gained evidence by folks like myself
