Similar to what is done with photoperiod plants where all fans are removed around day 42-50 into flower to allow for better light penetration, is anyone using this technique on Mephisto autoflowers?

If so can you please provide your experience?

Thanks

Here is some good defoliation info.

Thanks for taking the time.

Let me be more specific. I LST and I remove things here or there. I'm not afraid to play. But in the photoperiod world, commercial growers will remove approximately 70% of the fans at 21 days into flower and then 100% of all fans (not sugar leaves) between day 42 and 50 days of flower.

Has anyone tried something that aggressive with a Mephisto autoflower and what were the results?

Thanks

The schwazzing link I posted earlier has detailed information on the benefits of leaf stripping (schwazzing). There are also before and after pictures of the success people have had with heavily pruning their autoflowers. I haven’t grown any Mephisto before but I would assume they would benefit just like any other cannabis plant would.

Autoflowers don't like stress and can be finicky to nail. I want to make sure that someone has done this to a Mephisto plant before taking the risk.

I mostly leaf tuck, I defoliate as needed not only does it allow more light to penetrate deeper it creates better air flow around the flowers where it is most important, also when I cut off the lower larfy flowers that take up valuable energy I defoliate, just go slow give em time to recoup.

I do not believe this to be true. At least, it has not been my experience, even with less proven genetics. I do all kinds of "bad" things to auto flowers. I am consistently trying new techniques and trying to evolve my habits to grow better plants.

Needless to say, without going into a huge rant, I always defoliate. I have never experienced negative results from doing so.
