Lighting Repairing/upgrading Spectra180w light

Well, so much for that. I was going over it with a multimeter, 120vAC in, and what appeared to be 118vDC out, but when I tried to pull Amps it was 26.15dc but on my attempt to triple check my work I shorted out one of the wires and killed 1/3 of the led panel. Now 3 random red LEDs just flicker and make a high pitched noise and the rest of the 1/3 is out. Tried running that section off of the known working driver and it did the same thing.

Wait what... You did what.
How did you manage to pull that off
sorry to hear that mate
i'm speechless.

Since the wires and pins are small and need to be connected on the ground side to work, and not wanting to cut into the wire, I was using an open safety pin to probe the ground side of the plugin connection, and had removed the positive pin from the plug to connect to the multimeter. On my third testing, the safety pin rotated off to the side and touched the metal strap holding the driver down and arc'd pretty good.
