Lighting Replacing 400W HPS with LED...need advise

Thanks for the info WPOD!
Is 24" ok for a day old seedling and a 2 week old seedling? Just want to be careful..I've been loosing my very young seedlings...Lost 3 Dark Devil seedlings in a row in the first week, from what I believe is damping off. I don't want to scorch my girls!

Everybody has a different growing medium. Me I am an organic soil guy. I watch my heat & humidity. I also PH my water/molasses soil feedings.
All parts are important to a healthy start. Now we come to lighting. If you are nervous because of past failures I would go 30 inches as each plant handles
artificial light different. You can always lower it. And after reading your posts you seem like the type that will check on your garden multiple times a day.
I started with LED's & CFL's now the world of the white light cob. Makes me giddy.......I love great bud.........

Just keep em far enough away from the light they don't fry . The intensity will fry them before u even realize they dying. That small 24 to 30 minimum. I'm using two 96 reflectors and a hps. I started from seed and small clones

I went with 2 Mars II 400w led panels...Haven't hung them yet...can I hang these right away? I have 1 seedling about 2 weeks old and 1 seedling a day old under my 400w HPS...Also, I have seen people that have 2 panels, hang them at an angle? Any advantages to this? Thanks everyone for your input!! :smoking:
You can hang them now, since you only have two plants, you can only turn one light on and turn the veg switch on, when they are bigger, you can turn the two lights on.

24" above the plants that should be OK, the recommend hanging distance are
seedling: 24"-30" above the plants,
veg: 18"-24" above the plants,
flowering: 12"-18" above the plants.
