Without a doubt, its a good vape, especially for the price. However, I also own a Davinci original. they dropped the price to $149 and the only thing the Ascent really has on it, is custom settings and battery life. The Standard Davinci is likely one of the best for under $150. Same big hits with the Davinci. Now like all vapes, if all your looking for is a cloud of vapor, just crank it up to max temp and it will hit hard! I'm thinking of getting the waterpipe adapter for the Ascent.

Battery life. I've not timed it but I'm on my 9th session and battery meter says 1/2 charge still. So at least an hour so far. probably closer to 1.25 hours. After the next charge I'll time each session.

Pretty neat little mobile vaporizer, I agree with all the pro-points you listed. One thing I don't like about it is how difficult it can get to clean the inner-inner tube which has the three holes as a filter. When used enough, resin makes it into the triangle shaped inner glass's inside, and it's a pia process to somehow clean that out. I've tried alcohol, heat, but neither does a perfect job.
Also, one has to be careful when using the small integrated cleaning / picking tool's pointy end. This looked to be for cleaning the glass filter holes when they get clugged up, but it's easy to crack the glass when using it. You just have to use it in a bit wider angle when you clean the filter and it cracks the its bottom open.. so while it's all sturdy outside, it's also pretty fragile inside. I bought it during the intro when they gave a free set of inner-tube replacements, well I quickly figured out why that was useful.
If you grind the herb too much, little pieces make it through which can be caugh inducing...but that's pretty minor. These are the only things I've noticed about it, but as far as performance, quality of vape and general usability goes, it's outstanding.

I've found acetone works best for cleaning glass pipes etc. I use a small plastic tray filled with acetone/nail polish remover and soak my glass in it. I just cleaned the glass of the ascent that way. I used a 20 ml syringe to push acetone thru the glass pipes after soaking. the came out nice and clean. Care is needed as the glass is fragile.
Acetone + syringe = good idea. Thanks, I will give that a shot. I was going to try one other substance - baby oil. After my previous grows' harvest I had a hard time cleaning my hands off so my lady recommended to try baby oil, which much to my amazement worked immediately. Seems to dissolve the resin very well for some reason. This may be common knowledge, but I was really surprised how something oily can dissolve resin. I was going to try that, but I suspect it would leave oil behind, so acetone is probably a better way to go.

Looks over function ruled here! Loading is a pain in the ass! What's needed is a stand.......... and guess what I found.. a stand! AND its only 5 bucks! I'll post the link at the end.
The other is the glass screen. its a great idea, just not best implementation. I found though, that you can wedge two screens between the filter and the outer rubber seal. works like a charm, and I've yet to knock them off when brushing the screens.
And those are my only complaints! This is my favorite vape now, and i feel maybe the best on the market. And here's a tip: experiment with packing the oven. I was a little disappointed that the vapor output didn't quite match my DaVinci. So I plsyed with packing the oven tighter. Well, you can pack it fairly tight! and when you do, of course draw resistance increases but you can get some BIG clouds! NOW, I believe it is worth it to get a bong attachment. Crank this baby to 430F, hook it to a bong, and let her rip!

The stand is pretty cool! Simple but effective. But I really like the idea of the glass filter replacement! I must try this myself, the glass filter has been my biggest complaint about the unit's design. Awesome tips!
