Old Reviews Review: DaVinci Ascent, The Most Customizable Portable Vaporizer

I have just found my ultimate vaporizer, The DaVinci Ascent! Is it perfect? No, but its the over all balance of features and performance. First, its all glass airpath. I'm not one who buys into the whole idea that the vapor tastes better thru glass, that's just not realistic considering the materials used in most vapes are medical grade. BUT, what the glass does for certain, is to help cool the vapor! I've tested at 420F. HUGE cloud of vapor that didn't burn your throat! vapor felt only slightly warmer than it was at 365F. No other vaporizer this size that I've tested has such nice vapor!

Battery life is amazing! I just finished my third session with it and the battery charge hasn't even dropped yet! I'm thinking 2+ solid hours of use time is likely. Even my Mighty can't match that.

And its both simple to use, yet a geeks dream! You can customize vape sessions. You program it for a temp and time, then program the next higher temp you'd like and for how long, and a third step also if wanted!

It has a motion sensor that keeps the vaporizer active as long as it moves within a time you can set. i believe 4 minutes is default. What a great feature, if your sharing, it won't shutoff on your every 3 minutes like the Mighty does... But if you kinda space out after a few hits......... it will turn itself off!

I'm posting the only worthwhile tutorial video I've found. It is the only one with a way to use the screens that come with it! And it was a DUH moment when I saw how it was done... watch the video! It will show you all the features and how to use them!

Last thing, the vapor. The vapor has excellent taste, and the clouds are very good. I noticed that I wasn't getting that popcorn taste as the weed was vaped, just the vapor amount slowly getting smaller. I vaped some to a very dark brown before I noticed that popcorn taste. THIS is why I love this vape, good to the last hit!

works good for me too

I've found acetone works best for cleaning glass pipes etc. I use a small plastic tray filled with acetone/nail polish remover and soak my glass in it. I just cleaned the glass of the ascent that way. I used a 20 ml syringe to push acetone thru the glass pipes after soaking. the came out nice and clean. Care is needed as the glass is fragile.
been using hot water to clean mine, won't clean like the chems, but keeps her working

just fit the screens right over the glass fliter! And the glass stays clean a lot longer this way!
The stand is pretty cool! Simple but effective. But I really like the idea of the glass filter replacement! I must try this myself, the glass filter has been my biggest complaint about the unit's design. Awesome tips! :thanks:

I was wondering about a grinder that makes a coarse grind! I'll have to try one of those plastic ones. I've got one of those cheap ones with the crank handle on top. it actually works very well, but its sort of a fine grind. My regular Davinci likes it ground fine, the Mighty doesn't.

took about 2 days for me to wack the supplied screens, so, not using screens, courser grind, got cheapo plastic grinder, works good

Really nice and informative review. I love my solo but you have me thinking on this one.
Another gadget is just what I need :)

The solo is a great vape! Just not really that portable. The new Arizer Air looks nice but they should have made it similar the the Ascent in that the glass mouth piece should store in the vape, not separate! Size wise, the Ascent is in between the Mighty and the Crafty. It has awesome battery life also.

:hookah:
