50W per sq ft is the target most HPS users wanted for Photos.
LEDs and COBs are a totally different kettle of fish.
I think @BigSm0 was getting excellent yields/grows with under 15w per sq ft with COBs and Autos.

For sure, going strong at 11w per sq’ now. Daily light integral is a big factor as well.

I Am more of a photo guy I treat my autos same as photos with light strength

This is the reading I got some info from now I also have read Ed Rosenthal books and a couple others and it's usually 25-50w per square foot you could do it with less but I would rather be sure to get dense quality colas, every plant I grow by the time it's gotten close to ripen I need yo-yos and most fans are yellowed out and falling off

I actually have lights like your talking about they are exactly the same as HLG QB LED, but it's a prototype from a great company called FOLUX SOLUTIONS. I got 2 of the 240 kits wired them in less than 20 mins and had them blasting light on my scrog total between each board can be as low as 100w but dialed up it 260w with 288 Samsung diodes at 3500k. I also have a Amare SE 450 cob and diodes mixed with UV bulb. For end of flower. I have a perfect sun Goliath LED it's 580 flowers a 5. By 5 easy and it's 580 true watts so I know what your saying about led being different bc spectrum comes into play which changes ppfd. But I still at least like 500w for 5 by 5 at least 400 4 by 4

That was exactly my point when you said to make sure it's 50 True watts per sq ft.
I was saying LEDs/COBs require significantly less than that.
The Goliath in a 5x5 is 23.3 w/sq ft

Yes but I do also add 2 GROWant led boards to the room the hipar pro series g4 led they aren't the best LEDs but there spectrum makes everything change color and makes them flower faster with the Goliath spectrum mixed with it so that's 200 true watts plus Goliath at 580 true watts. So 780 true for my 5 by 5

CHOPPED down Ripley last night her leaves and colas were purple and black the Goliath LED is amazing bc it definitely had a lot to do with the color change

Now this is only half of my biggest auto, and I have 8 oz from my last 2 chopped curing, and I have 2 skystomper so close to finishing up
