Mephisto Genetics Ripleys OG hempy-watch me fuck it up

Havent done a log here in awhile so heres my first ever ripleys og. Ive been waiting like a year or something to pop this bean. Heres her day 1 pic from yesterday-born on autoflower day! If that aint good omen...Weekly updates to come...she will reside in a 3.5gal perlite/vermiculite hempy, fed mostly dyna gro, unless i decide mid run to switch to megacrop. I want to use up my dg bottles and perlite hempys are great for plowing through bottles lmao. Plus i want to see how dg compares to the recent success ive had with megacrop. She will be in a make shift reserve bay next to the mg test run tent. Still under construction but mostly there. For now shes getting a 55w 3500k autocob until the driver and wagos get here, to be replaced by 2xhlg qb288 4000k@100w each. Thats the plan anyway. No extraction just fans. Framework is built, now onto creating a flat back and top to secure a flat white shower curtain/liner to..super sorry for sideways rookie pics it wont happen again.

And a huge ass Ripleys

Those 2 DWC buckets u see STARTED as hempys and grew SO many roots...

And I stuck them in DWC and got this!

Don’t feed your hempys allot. But feed every water. I did it that way at least

Those are all hempys and two deep Water hempys

Also, I highly recommend LEAVING OUT the vermiculite and running 100% perlite

The vermiculite rly messed with the PH of my Hempy Res’s, because some of that vermiculite will be permanently in your Res buffering your PH

It caused me NOTHING but problems in the beginning up until now. I’ve smoothed out my issues by purposely swinging my PH at feed time.

But save urself the stress, 100% perlite is the way to go I think

Just hoping to save u a headache!! The vermiculite is 100% unnecessary

I have a 100% perlite Hempy and it is doing awesome

Thanks for the kind words gents. Ive ran my fair share of hempys. Prob more hempy than soil/less at this point. Some with some without vermiculite. Pulled out this +-7oz sodk in 2gal over winter despite a nasty Ca def.
Youve got me second guessing my vermiculite addition- i think it helps to retain moisture in the first weeks otherwise im watering 2 times a day. Well see- i might decide to ditch the vermiculite as shes not xplanted yet. It is getting warmer and RH going up...itll be a gametime decision.

I havent had ph issues with vermiculite. What i have seen though is hardpan form in the rez. Maybee its got something to do with the finer vermiculite fines working there way through the chunky no4 perlite as i feed....eventhough i flush the ever living piss out of everything with a hose before potting. i think im going to chuck the perlite/vermiculite and fill her back up just perlite. Thanks for the tip
