I wasn't too sure were I could post this, sorry if this isn't the correct spot. I am doing a soil grow, but used some older hydro pots that I have (I wrote more about this in my grow log, its dumb I know). Now with these pots, there are a lot of holes on the bottom of this pot. when inspecting the plants today, I saw the roots are starting to grow through the bottom of this.

Now, I have been doing a lot of research on hydro growing they say the roots need to be kept in a dark spot to prevent the roots from getting harm. I know this isn't hydro, so I am asking is there something I should do or leave it? I am also wondering about this, because I did order some air pots for the next grow. And I see the videos, they say they go towards the air holes, dry out and prune.

So is there really any cause for concern here?

Infirmary would be the place for this post, however, no pics, no details of pot sizes etc. hard to help.

You should be concerned. Go get a 5 gallon pot, fill it with soil, and stash those babies in there. Let those roots flourish.

Pics and better details(container specs) would help.

I just looked at your grow log . Took a arm and a leg to find it. Lol

Your plants look good, nice first grow brospeh.

What seems to be the prob? Your set up looks fine. I always get roots that will peak out the drainage holes from time to time, never an issue.

If they are coming out heavily you might have to do the solo cup method, hence the 5 gallon pot. Idk, post some pics! :peace:

You are correct, I didn't even think about it. I re-checked all the plants today, I thought it was a lot worse for some reason -.- But there is oe root on one of the plants trying to poke through. Tried to take a picture came out blurry. Will take one tomorrow.

They are I think 2-3 gallon pots. I'm not sure if its a big deal though is the main issue, because the air pots have many holes in them as well sides as well as bot.

If a mod wants to move this thread by all means.

Edit: Just saw your post again. Thanks btw :) Prob took you an arm and a leg to read it too haha.

you'll get roots poking through here and there from time to time, no worries. You can post these problems in your journal where people will help you, no big deal.

I had some solo cups sitting on some other plants (in their bed of soil) so the solo cups could get some nice light.

Low and behold all the roots grew into the other plants container from the solo cup drain holes with in days! that was a mess...

Keep us updated, good luck. :peace:

Lol, I bet :P Thanks for the tips and quick post <3
