I have used roots organic exclusively and have not had any problems it drains great and as far as I am concerned it is a great soil.. I have had no bug issues . I have heard some use lime with it but I have not. I actually use a starter plug in the soil and start my grow in the main pot..

hey ya'll!
thought i would throw my 2 cents in on Roots Organic soil.... ive been growing for almost 6+ years, first started out on photos, now autos strictly, but from day 1 ive been using Roots Organic.
i dont work for them, but ive tried other soil just to give other soil a chance and I keep going back to roots.
Ive never had a bad batch (bugs/flys), and never had a seed get too hot from it.

So Roots Organic gets a thumbs up from me

I am currently on my first grow, and using the roots original, I used 2 tbsp per gallon dolomite lime, no perlite, but next time I will be using perlite, because I'm using Led it didn't dry fast enough for my liking and I ended up overwatering, causing a pretty bad fungus gnat problem. I created a cup sized hole in the middle of the pot, and filled it with seed starter to plant my popped seed into so that the tap would grow into the roots soil. I like roots, but I can't compare with another brand.

Put some sand on the top of your pot and some fly catchers in the tent and you should be able to control them.. Get the roots 707 it has more perlite in it...

My 2 cents. I am using roots soil now along with gbd soil from Mephisto seeds and only need to add cal/mag and water. I haven't had any issues and I am day 21 today.

As everyone is saying cal/mag is a must using this soil. I used ffof on my last 2 grows and will never touch it again. As soon as I switched nutes to bloom it burnt the hell out of it in 24 hours.

Adding Epsom Salt to each watering will be a big boost to the cal/mag issue w/o special additional cal/mag solutions.

Sorry to Piggyback on your post, but which version of organic root do yall use? Formula 707, Greenfields, Greenlite, or just the potting soil?
