Mephisto Genetics Rosin Yields / Average resin content?

Hi, i just completed 3x Sour Stomper that i am going to be extracting the resin off,

So i was curious what kind of yield people in here were getting on their extractions with these genetics?

I did notice there was a rosin thread, but it seemed like it was mostly some pictures being posted etc-

Here is a test press i did for christmas,

10 grams of herb pressed at around 8tons/200f,
Yield was 1.7 grams in total, which would land me on 17% resin content

(However, for this test squish only top nugs were used, so this number most likely wouldnt translate into my average number)

That's some amazing and terpy looking rosin! Did you use a filter or bag?
Ive squished some double grape and sour crinkle from them. My Double grape yielded more oil- even though she was stunted the whole grow, she was still most potent.
Squished 3.5 grams of sour crinkle in a 90u bag at 185°F for 2.5 minutes, 20 tons pressure and achieved about a half gram.
Squished 9 grams of Double Grape at 190°F in a 90u , 3 minutes , 20 tons pressure and got 1.3 grams.

I love rosin pictures and that all started with @Ronin and his fantastic pressings and pics in the sticky on this Meph board. that was probably my picture thread you mentioned and its been inactive for a while. Good idea to do a pictures and yields thread. I'm in. But will be a couple of weeks before I have anything to press. 17 percent isn't so bad. I used to think who cares about yield but with rosin high yield means you have good quality product is the input and also reflects your pressing factors like temp and duration and PSI too. Looking forward to a new Meph rosin thread.

Just made this with mostly deez nugs and sour stomper x fantasmo express trim. I worked it for about 20 mins after it dried and it’s about the consistency of old bubble gum. Very neat texture. Very strong. Butane, used 3 coffee filters as a screen, blasted through a literal glass bottle. Used a beer cap with a shower head design in it and blasted straight into parchment paper.

All in all I got a gram off of one 12oz bottle stuffed full of dried trim.

Looks a little oily, but very very much like chewing gum. Dry. Can play with t if I wanted.... neat shit. Better than anything I’ve ever paid money for.

Rosin pressing results depends on many factors. Moisture level, Terps, THC content, strain, temps, pressure, ect. Some strains press better than others. If you take your plants too long, they usually press worse. If your plant doesn't yield well, don't waste your time. Some will yield 30% and some 10% . Also, a another factor is how much you press at once. You don't want to do too much and waste

If you didn't purge that with a vacuum pump, you have butane left in your extract. Nice looking, but for health reasons I would not use that right away. When you whip it for wax, you should put in vacuum at 115F it takes 8hrs to purge enough usually. If you can not afford a vacuum chamber and pump, at a minimum wait a few days to use your product at room temp to purge further. When you make a lot of extracts, you will be able to taste the difference. I can tell if something is not purged well enough by the taste.

Also, what kind of butane are you using? Some is much cleaner than others. For a general rule of thumb is to look for butane processed in Great Britian vs Korea if you are buying cans from a store. Look at the can or ask someone, it is your health. Some butane is dirty and has residuals in it.

Thanks very much for the info. Yeah I’m not hurting for smoke so by all means I’ll let it all air out for a few days. Had no idea. Appreciate it.

Using that white and red brand. Ronson maybe? The “expensive” “store stuff” vs the cheap gas station stuff which I used before and got more of a dark shatter. So, overall much happier with this butane.

Is what I made called “budder” been trying to identify it and I think so.... also I won’t lie I did try some before reading this post. Very very high it got me indeed.... I think it’s a special occasion type of stuff. Very rare product to have on the east coast... atleast to me it’s rare.

Ronson butane. Made in the USA. That’s gonna be my go to. USA made man. Can’t beat that.

You can put in rosin section bud, I'll go about it with you all day lol. I haven't smoked flower since I put my press together a little over a year ago. I did some Ripley's Og that was incredible last yr. Grape Crinkle is another good 1 for flavor not yield. I have found that yield is nice, but flavor is better.
