New Grower Round 2

Sledgehammer will break up any salts in the soil and allow the flush to be a complete flush.

Man oh man do I feel vindicated! Just got an email from fox farms about your ph runoff readings, and I was right! I'm not one to gloat but...... Alright I won't! Here is the email.

Thank you for contacting FoxFarm with your inquiries, I'd be glad to help. This value for your run off sounds totally normal. When you send a pH adjusted solution through your growing medium, exchange rates and solubility of certain constituents all vary. An acidic solution will be able to dissolve other acidic ingredients, as well as your medium will absorb many of the ingredients that are more alkaline, leaving your run off more acidic coming out than going in. Observation of your plants is your best indicator for growing healthy plants, but if you would like directions for performing a soil slurry test, I will send it to you. This is a more accurate way of determining the pH value of your soil, rather than using run off values. I hope this helps.

Thank you for growing with FoxFarm, have a great day.

OK So now I can look up the slurry test, and even have a better reading. But FF is saying not to sweat the runoff to much, just watch the plant. got it. Thanks Nam. Here are some pics. like I said if you go back a few days the spots are not any bigger and I do not see any new ones. I think I need to trim some more of those fan leaves though huh. My Little doggie is wanting to know if it is ready yet. :D: :peace:

She looks awesome! The fox farms tech responded with how to do a slurry test. Ill post it on here tomorrow.

Willamina will need a drink tomorrow BUT I think I will just feed water. then next feed do the nutes and some molasses does that sound about right ? :peace:

Nam will get with you soon willy, he has a lot more experience than I do with the FF soil so I will sit this one on the sidelines and cheer! I apologize for the misleading comments earlier in the thread, I was going by what I have always done in my situation but being that we different types grow medium it wasn't the correct recommendations. With that being said, I am still going to watch you like a hawk! I may just learn something here. :D:

Did you get the sledgehammer yet? Your lady looks great, really green though. You've got the right idea, no nutes next water IMHO. If, and it's a BIG if, it was me I'd do a half flush next water if you've got the sledgehammer, if not I'd just do a ph watering. FFOF can be very rewarding once you get the hang of it, but I wouldn't blame you go not using it again. After my first grow with it I was willing to just scrap it and get a different soil, but I'm glad I stuck with it now. Different strokes for different fokes. As always thats just what I'd do. :2cents: Sending as much :karma Cloud: I can muster your way. :peace:
P.S. I know nothing about molasses.

Well, first of all thanks again for the advice and assistance. No I don't have the SledgeHammer yet or the calibration solution. (SLACKER) I did water and I just used good ol pH 6.5 I couldn't help myself I added 8ml of the BB. But she looked good this morning all perked up and pistols all over the place. And in FFOF defense my first 2 plants, my first and only grow, gave me some decent smoke, and I gave them hell. GO Northern Lights. (Sturdy Plant good for beginners is why I bought them) but those seeds where in FFOF. SOooooo WHO DA FK KNOWS ? SO one grow trying to stay dead on 6.5 and this one we going to try the Talk to me Method. :peace:

Well what You Think ?

OK she was pretty thirsty last night but I watered with 6.9 bubbled. I did not check run off I will check it next feeding. Here are some pics These were all the bad leaves I found are on the pics. It has turned a lighter shade of green BUT still looks OK to me. It is day 39 what you think ?? :peace:

personally I think she's a biggggghhh asssssss girl for that young ..

Best of luck Wiley

Ok from what I know It seems she was hot at beginning ...so with this soil and small pots it could be almost water only for the first 30 days ..
Or you could blend it with the Light warrior for the first few days ..
I heard Muddy talk alot about this and he suggest blended it 50/50
light warrior to Ocean Forrest ..
Or u use the Ocean Forrest at the bottom and sides and Digg a hole in the middle for the light warrior ..
Pls t the seed in a small cushion of Light warrior and as her roots stray out she will receive the oceans Forrest..

Molasses feed the microbes sugars ...
T
Also a good source of Potassium Iron and Calcium ..some even contain Mag so be weary of that m..
Personally I've tried molasses .
Now I'll feed molasses to a Organic soil only weeks 5-8 now im doing Honey ..

Molasses makes harsh smoke too so if u use it u gotta water ur plants for at least a week to rinse the extra sugars out or IT WILL TASTE BURNT ....!!!!
LIKE ROAZTED BURNT COOKIES TOO if there's too much in there ..
