Been dealing with too many issues with soil, so I wondered if anybof y'all heard or tried any of the Royal Gold mixs and attest to their quality. I was looking at their basement mix for handwatering or maybe a drip system down the road

Basement mix:

or their tupur

I used Royal Gold coco with perlite and got good results. I recall it looked and felt to be a well-processed product - consistent, clean, etc. I had no pH or other problems (but I give calmag with every feeding) using DTW/manual feeding. I don't recall if it was buffered. I will probably use it again. And with the company based in Humbolt County, CA, I presume they are totally oriented to our interests, not the garden supply market.

Good stuff guys keep em coming!

@BII what mix were you using from them? Basement mix, tupur, Mendo, or their choir mix? Yeah I love they are a US company and emerald triangle is a plus!

I used the coco coir product, not one of their mixes. Maybe, next time, I will 50:50 mix their coco with their mix (forget which one it is) that is lightly charged with nutes and designed for drainage/hydo-type feeding.

Hey spacepope Ive been using roots organics coco coir and couldn't be happier. Haven't used royal gold to due the price and availability. I feed with calmag every feed and no problems at all for me. I had a lot of issues with soil as well, and found the coco to be a lot easier though you have to feed more.

We should compile a list of tested and proven coco's and the best way to treat each one individually. Example...botanicare and some other brick type coco's need a good amount of rinsing. Whereas Cyco and Coco-loco need no rinsing. If there was a complete thread to follow it could be helpful.

I'm going to start a thread in a few days. You also made me think of another reason. We need to also list where they are available. U.K., U.S., Canada.....etc.
