Okay medic grower, I welcome any advice I will continue to lower the amount of water till I find a happy medium.
What you said about dryer pots encouraging the roots to grow does make sense.
However, the first see we put in I am sure suffered from over drying out because the entire pot was literally bone dry.
I did repot this out the tent in my bath room window, not for yield, just because I don't like killing any thing I grow.
I usually keep it 5.5ph during the hole grow, as it naturally rises over time, until the next feed, and gets all the nutes it needs.
I was told not to worry about ph for the first week or so, to avoid burning, deformities, stunting etc.
Thanks for your input again, I will take into consideration what you said about ph during the flowering period. I stuck to 5.5 my entire previous grow, would like to see how drifting up to 6.2-6.5 would benefit the plants.
Nudd, firstly thanks for your input buddy

how far into coco are you and what strains? Best of luck and hope you embrace the befits of coco over compost

I have left the water in a 20 L bucket, its has a lid with a vent installed to stop contamination but lets the chemicals evaporate from the tap water for a least 12 hours until the buckets refilled (week or so).
I have been told not to use nutes for the first 2 weeks or couple sets of leaves, to avoid burning, stunting, deformities, so thats the rule I generally follow. I have also been told not to use ph down for the first week or two, to avoid burning, stunting, deformities.
I have the flight about 4" away from the head today, I don't know exactly the rang of a 125w CFL but I am sure raising another 4 or 5 inches could put the distance at 8-9 inches and that I am sure is way to far, I was told to have it was close a possible but without burning and leaving small room for growth, and increasing it every few days to encourage growth. I don't want to fire up the LED yet as I have read that CFL have more benefit during the veg period of the plant. Soon as bud sights start to shower pre flowering I will fire up the LED. I have tried many different places for fan but the place it is currently is the easiest reached, I also have wire distance length restrictions, it feels like its a nice breeze reaching the plant, and keeps my light temp equilibrium where I want it.
Bouncing off the wall will increase the temp higher than I would like, it's a small tent, and thats a hot light!
Chuck me a link to your coco thread?
JAYAR thanks for the chart, I'll add it to my collection :tiphat:
I will take on board the dry cycle info from you and medic grower, how dry is okay for coco 2 days okay?
I was advised by Jimmy420 to start 5.5ph and it will raise its self over time until the next feed.
When I test runoff its generally a little higher than 5.5ph so I am happy with that system, I looked at the charts and all the essential nutes can be absorbed in that scale.
Its now 18 days since planted, and 17 days since sprouting.
Its still quite small and has only just started its second set of true leaves.
I will get a picture up as soon as I can.
Cheers for the input guys, ps JAYAR is that actually your dog?
