Seedling decided to flop..Dark under leaves?

Sorry about your seedling. I hope she makes it.
Azamax is great stuff for sure. The de is a pita and stops working when it gets wet, which seems to happen immediately. I like sand or gnatnix for a top barrier to deter gnats. I am always fighting them since I have a vinyard next to me that seems to mass produce them.

I didn't know about AN and GH being Monsanto and soon to be Bayer.? Good to know.

Sounds like she damped off on you - nothing to do but plant a new seed. I know that a lot of people swear by soaking, then paper towel then transplant 3 or more times - phoowee! each of those steps has a potential to stunt or kill your seedling. Start your seed in a riot rooter or small rockwool cube that is already in the pot with the medium it will grow it's whole life in. Plant the seed 1/2" deep point up. Keep moist with 1/4 strength nutrients PHed to 5.8 - 6.1 not soggy and ~78°F Never transplanting = never damaging the all important tap root at the most critical time in the plant's life. I have grown all types of vegetables and flowers organically for 40+ years; I have tried many many germination methods in the greenhouse to get a jump on spring. Every method that involved the potential to damage the tap root of the seedling ended with lower crop quality than seeds I just planted in the soil.

Look at my thread in my signature; I broke my own rule here but it seems that the lateral roots are already established in the A-ok 1-1/2" starter blocks by the time the tap root is out 1" and I was very careful when placing and pressing them into the Hugo blocks. I got 100% germination using GroDan's germination equipment and method. I know six is not a very big sample but I have just started using this method so time will tell. It is my understanding that this method was developed in the tomato industry.

Ps. insecticidal soap is good for aphid.
