50w ea, 450 total... 518w @ the wall. From growth I've seen it is well above a 600 hps, maybe not quite the results of a 1000w unit.I vote for more lights, as apposed to 1 big one. The versatility alone is a no brainer, for me. In fact, do yourself a favor and cruise around this site and see what Autocobs are doing. See Arthur's post, top of page.
I dont promote site vendors because they are site vendors. Autocob might not be the best but I haven't seen better results, consistently, EVER! Factor in the savings on your elec bil. @Arthur has 9 Autocobs, 65w each, in that pic. 585w, which is almost too many, imo. I've used 5 in a 4x4 space with awesome results.
I think your lady getting wide on you is typical for re-veg. I would make the flip, sooner than later. It's nice to break records with growing 8oz, 10oz...but I'd rather grow 2 smaller plants in the same space, get just as much yield, in a fraction of the time
Back in the day, if you wanted rock hard nugs, 1000w lights were a must in flower. Was running 3 in flower and a 600 and a 400 MH in the veg room... that was a decade ago...
Now with power here @ 29 cents a KWH... not an option...cheaper to buy!
I LOVE MY LEDS.
