New Grower short autos; they never stretch!

Bud enhancers and bloom boosters are like fishing lures. You know about fishing lures right? They're designed to catch fishermen......Do some serious research, all that stuff is bunk! Save your money! And for those that don't agree, SHOW me, side by side clones and control plants. Without science to backup claims, anecdotes are not going to prove anything. You don't see organic grows trying to overload the plants with nutes they can't process!

From Garden Myths:
Bloom Boosters

For many people growing plants in pots is all about getting flowers–lots of them. If your goal is to produce as many flowers as you can, should you be using a bloom booster?
A bloom booster is a fertilizer with a high middle number–it has a lot of phosphorus compared to nitrogen.
The answer is NO. The idea that plants need a huge injection of phosphorus in order to bloom is an old myth that just won’t die. Plants need a good balanced diet, just like you and me.

if you have enough nutrients in your soil when you plant you do not need to add anything during the grow except water.if I add bloom booster during flowering the tips of my leaves turn yellow ( nutrient burn) but my buds don't get any bigger, the compost, guano, bonemeal and other organic nutrients in my soil provide everything my plants need

so would you say additives are to attract the grower not the plant?

Of course in the fertilization business, marketing is everything. Why else would they have all of the crazy names and pictures on the containers? It is big business and they are getting rich off the average canna farmer. Not only with additives but with the standard regimen of nutrients. The price we pay for nutrients is insane and was a big reason why I went completely organic. I have cut my cost per gram in less than half of what I was paying with bottled nutrients.

So if you are growing synthetic do you need all of the additives? That is a trick question. In many cases adding more will not help your plant. In many cases it will. It comes down to symbiosis and the plants ability to use the added nutrients. Not just symbiosis of the soil to plant but also the plant to it's environment. Can you pump the soil full of added nutrients and expect the plant to flourish under a 200W light? Probably not, but we know the more light we provide, along with CO2, temps, RH and so on then we can increase photosynthesis in the plant. When photosynthesis increases then we are going to have to provide the plant with more food or it will suffer.

It is easily likened to a body builder and the average person. You can't feed the average joe the same amount of foods that a body builder would eat without harming him. You also can't feed a body builder the same amount the average joe would eat without harming him as well. In the perfect environment a plant will definitely benefit from an increased supply of nutrients. Not just potassium and phosphorus but amino acids as well.

with a small bag of worm castings being 20$ you you cut the price in half? I figured organic would increase price so much between that and the bat guano....

Others have wondered that, and done grows to the end with just :veg" nutes, and they grew just fine! I plan to do a grow later one, with one res using just Maxigrow, in the other, I will switch over to Maxibloom during flower. And no, you don't need any "extras" for synthetic. Any good base nutes already should have everything your plant needs, if it doesn't, get rid of it for something that does! Here's another way to look at this: Everything that you add, is one more complication, one more source of potential trouble. Even in organics, people over do it. My largest plant right now, is in a 3.5 gallon put, with recycled organic soil. NO additives of any kind, no top dressings. CaL/MAG once a month. Its a gorgeous plant too! Would it be even better with organic nutes added? Maybe...but I look at it and wonder how it could look/be any better! I DO however, believe organic nutes are well worth adding to your soil grows as your not polluting the soils with excess salts.

As was said before, all your plants need is a balanced diet, just like we do! Someone used an analogy of a body builder. Really, not accurate. Feed that 6000 calorie diet to a couch potato and see what it does to him! Will he get bigger and stronger, or will all that protein toxify his kidneys, etc?

Good looking plants nonfiction. You may be an AFN novice but your skills would lend me to believe otherwise.

Looking nice and healthy, watch you humidity as they get further into bloom to be sure that compact structure doesn't hold too much moisture round the buds an lead to mold. Happy growing
