So, I have planted 4 fugue state from Mephisto. They’re all above ground but I’ve noticed something a little troubling. They all seem to have some funky stuff going on with their leaves. Twisting on some, major clawing on others. They’re still so young but wondering what be the result? They’ve not received anything but RO water. I’m starting to wonder if perhaps my medium might be the issue. I’m growing in promix hp but the bale is from 2015. Do you think that could be a factor? Also temps have been slightly lower than I’d prefer. 20-22C. Humidity has been fine (45-56%) I’m just wondering if I should scrap these and start fresh. I’ve been thinking of switching to coco or the new promix hp with coco? I’ve put up a few pics. All input is welcome and greatly appreciated. So, do I wait a few more days and see how things go or just pull the plug?

You had to.run water thru it A LOT if it was that old when soil or soilless medium dries out Completely then when you try to water it won't hold unless you soak it, every time you water it has tunnels and will dry out faster so root growth is gonna be a major issue I would get some brand new medium ASAP and transplant. Even tho you should not transplant a auto I would still try to salvage the grow worst that happens is you have new medium you need anyway if your starting a new cycle

Thanks for your input. I did a grow with this medium a few months ago and felt like they got off to a very slow start and were kinda small overall (even though it was a small stature strain- sour crack) I don’t think I want to waste time, energy and effort hoping these turn around. I think I might just go pick up some fresh medium and start over. Thanks so much for your input.

Did you check the pH of the soil? You shouldn't have pH issues with the promix but that is what it looks like with that amount of twist to the seedlings. Personally I would try and ride it out just a bit more before I scrapped such awesome genetics. Those fugue states seem so amazing, can't wait to get some myself. Was the soil stored outside? Notice any flying insects in the tent? Hopefully its not Fungus gnat larva or root aphids munching on the young roots. Not likely, but possible with older medium.

Might be something genetic. Contact the breeder, maybe they can give you some more insight... I've grown in a mediumthat was like 10 years old and have had no problem at all. Maybe just some bad ruderalis genetics in there..

Never checked ph of soil. Don’t have a ph soil probe (yet) Didn’t notice any kind of insects at all and I was keen to pay close attention to that as the medium is a few years old. It has been stored in a garage, an outdoor shed, different range of temps etc over the past few years. I know it’s a shame to waste 4 seeds now especially at such an early stage but after spending a few months caring for plants I’d really prefer to get everything out of them that they can provide. My last grow with this medium produced great smoke but things just seemed so behind from the start. Twisted leaves at the start as well etc. Think I’m just going to start fresh. I will post in the Mephisto section to see if others experienced similar things at the beginning but from what I saw in all the journals with this strain no abnormalities of any kind. Just been trying to read up on coco. I know it’s a big jump for a novice and it will be a new learning curve to tackle but I believe it’s for the best in the long run... Thanks so much for chiming in.

Heading over to Mephisto section when I’m all caught up in here. But as stated in my previous post I haven’t seen anything like this on others’ grows of the same strain.

When mine did that, the soil was hot. Just water for a bit , they should pull through imo
