Grow Mediums Smart pot mould.

Hi all. I have a 2 week old girl in a 16 ltr smart pot. Just checked to see if any roots have emerged from botton of pot and found white residue on the bottom. Smelt it and its definitely mould. The pots are raised up on bits of wood for drainage.
Is the mould a problem and if so what can i do to get rid of it? Thanks.
