hi cocha mate I need some one to answer a question for me. im on week 3 and on Friday I gave them there 1st feed ov veg nutes. this is what I gave them....to a full 20 ltr rez..... 6ml call mag ..silicon 4ml.. rhizotonic 15ml canna veg a-b in equal amounts til ppm 500 ph 5.7 5.8. its now sunday and my ph in all 3 keeps droppin to the low 5s.... heres ppm and ph of each ph 5.2..426 ppm. ph 5.3.. 440 ppm. ph 5.2..448 ppm. my room temp stays between 18-22 rez temp on all 18. the ppm was set at 500 on each. they look sound theres nothing wrong in the way they look and growth is going sound. all the roots look and smell fine any ideas mate.

I have not seen mention of what is happening to the water level.

The key things to look at are obviously the EC & ph but what is happening to the water level in conjunction with the other factors tell you how to resolve.

If the water level is falling and your EC is climbing but ph falling, this could be simply that the plant is drinking more than it is eating so to speak. There are other posabilities but if that water level is remaining static with these symptoms, the plant is leeching nutrients back to the water so the EC needs to be increased.

If you think through what is happening, it may become obvious.

The worse case if a static water level, static or climbing EC and a falling ph.
If you have this, it is probable that the issue is too much CO2 going into the water, so a res change will be needed.

I may try to write a thread detailing how to deal with these vagaries.

Hi bud ...there looking really good ,better than mine right now lol .you stole my mojo bro ?

Strange the PH dropping if ppm is too ? I would give it a day or two & see if it balances out .Does it fall really fast or has it taken since friday to get that low ? . maybe do a res change & up the feed to 550 but if there happy they could just be taking up some nutes faster making the PH drop ,depends how fast its falling really ,if the aqua vegga had enough time to disolve fully after mixing ect

Could be an imbalance if its falling like a rock ,or possibly the down you added to get to 5.7 has fully dissolved now & made it to low ? . I sometimes add what looks right but is too much after 24hrs .

The PPM down that much in 2 days says she wants more though bro ,if you dont do a res change for another few days deffo up the feed then (550 ish) :Cool bud::Sharing One:

*This is assuming the water level is remaining more or less the same*

A falling ph with a rising EC is not the time to start adding just water.
I will explain why.
Your plants roots sort of have their own internal EC, which will be different from that of the water/nute solution.
So if the plants internal EC is LOWER than the solutions, the plant will absorb nutrients along with water.
If the plants roots however have a higher EC than the nute solution, they will leech nutrients and raise your nute EC.

So, if you have a static water level, with a rising EC, raise your nute EC.

If your water level is dropping and the EC is rising, this is when you need to add water to the nute solution.

This has not looked at the ph.

If your ph is falling in DWC, it generally means your EC is too low (as above).

There is a complication however and that is your air quality.
When pumping air into a DWC bucket, you are pumping in Oxygen but also CO2. The addition of CO2 to water in this way is exactly the same process responsible for acid rain. (Power stations pumping CO2 into the air, which goes into clouds and hey presto, acid rain".

So, if you are in a city, with high levels of CO2, this may be the cause of falling ph.
A res change, maybe even twice usually sorts this out.

So, the solution to this depends on your water levels.

they all drink about half a litre every day and ive been topping up each rez with just ph ed water so I think your right in saying they need more nutes. my mate said the same yesterday and told me to up my ppm. and to also put 10 mil of a - b to a litre of water and add to each rez but if I was unsure to try it with just one so I did I set ph at 5.7 and the ppm was 535 and that was at 7 last night and I then checked at 10 pm and the ph 5.8 and then at 4 am it was ph 5.7 and at 8 am this morning it was 5.7. and she looks sweet the other 2 there ph was 5.3. so im going to change rez and up ppm to 550 and see how that goes. ....lol your mojo is on its way bk to ya bro ten fold .... il post some photos of them shortly

Nice root system very early! This should be really good to see. Lots of LED magic too ! G'luck!

well I uped my ppm to between 530 and 500 on all of the 3 at 12 this morning and I set ph at 5.7 and ive checked it every 2 hours and it went up to 5.8 so alls good for the moment.

Well this morning they look fine no nute burn. And the Ph on all three has stayed at 5.7. So alls good for now

cool bud ,you gonna have your work cut out for ya soon lol .Every plant may have a slightly different PPM needs in a while ,keep those meters calibrated bro :Sharing One:
