Any of you guys have firsthand experience with smoke filters?
Nicely made commercial models seem ridiculously expensive!
I don't really care how it looks, I just need it to work extremely well.
I do not smoke cigarettes,
I smoke from a bong generally clearing the bowl 3-4 hits at a time, 3-4 times a day.
What I want is something that will clear that smoke immediately or close to that.
The room is 10'x12'x8'.
What I need from any of you that know firsthand is, what works?
I can easily make a DIY with a Phat filter and a fan, but I would only want to do so if I know "for sure" that it would work.
"For sure" being it is something you are currently using to the desired effect.
Getting this nailed down will be the creme to a big remodeling project.

Thanks,
gtron

I don't understand. Do you want a filter for when you smoke or for a grow room? If for smoking just get a vape.

Stuff a couple fabric softeners in a paper towel tube and exhale thru that. Burn a pretty candle to mask. And a towel to cover the bottom door crack.

Damn that was a living at home with the parents while I went to High School flashback moment right there.

The fan noise to pull thru the filter would give you away if anyone is in an adjoining room.

That's exactly what i use when i have to be sneaky, it really does smell like fabric softener lol

Sorry Guys, I do appreciate the contributions, but I am not looking for highschool or college dorm room fixes
And frankly the previous suggestions don't really work if you are regularly in close proximity to non smokers that are rarely around any smoke what so ever.
That includes vaping, and yes I am doing it right, my wife and our progeny have the noses as sensitive as basset hounds.
Besides, I like a good bong hit best.

Piggy,
I live with non-smokers- I have built my own office. I want to smoke in it. The non-smokers I live with would appreciate not smelling the smoke. At all.
I need a filter to filter the smoke.
I don't smoke much at any given time, and only 3-4 times a day.
But when I put the bong back in it's cabinet, I would like the smell to be gone.
I need recommendations from people that have first hand experience with smoke filters that actually work.
I want to know if there is something on the market, that someone has used or is using that works.
Or the same with a DIY solution.
That is why I am asking, it seems to me that a Phat filter with a decent fan should work, but it may not. I don't want to waste time money or energy building a filter if there is already a decent priced reliable model out there.

Phat filter with fan will NOT get rid of the smoke smell. I have a huge fan and filter (PHAT) running round the clock, and you can still smell smoke.. Good luck in finding something that works. E

FatsWaller, That is the kind of info I am looking for.
I have been looking, but I had not seen that company as the application was different.
However, the company went on record (to me on the phone just now) stating their cheapest unit @$500 will not filter cigarette smoke.
The price tag is too steep, and if they are not willing to say it can handle cigarette odor, I am not confident it would handle burning cannabis odor.

Anyone have something that they have used to good effect?
