Smokin' Screws Smokin' Screws - AFN Communal Summer 2018 Test Thread

looks like I am a bit late to the party but here it goes

I got my smokin screw in the mail a few days ago but most of my glass pipes were a mess so I wanted to clean a few before I used my smokin screw screen

I cleaned the heck out of my favorite knockoff GRAV helix pipe and packed some fat chunks of my homemade hash first and then a bit later tried some bud and man it blew me away both times

its a awesome little screen and will keep the bubbler a lot cleaner which is great

my homie loves it he wants me to order him one for his pipe now

First impressions:

It's TINY! Wasn't expecting the Titanic but definitely something to keep an eye on!

The thin spiral at the bottom acts like a spring, so it can push in like a button or given a light tug to expand the coil.

Doesn't seat flush in my bong bowl but doesn't seem to matter. Definitely recommend bending the hand down 90 degrees to make a little handle though!

Very smooth, not getting a metal taste even after not torching the spring prior (didn't even think to do that until typing this, didn't think about if there would any residual on the coil from production?)

And a second go!

So far I'm digging it; my old screen came from the kitchen faucet  And it was completely deteriorated from the constant heat and occasional prod/poking. After a day of continual use it's gunking up a bit, may clean it soon.

I mentioned how the flavor is very very good smokin in this... I see you noticed that right away too. don't wait as long as I did to clean yours... I started to notice on wednsday mine was getting hard to draw from, but i pushed it two more days and made it incredibly nasty... I just tried after the clean and so nice to have nice draw again and the true flavor of the flower.

Cool little screw :funny:

I’m digging on mine right now. Cleaned 3-4 times now. I use the hell out of it in three different bowls!! I did not being the handle so I can swap it about. I may have said it before but I like it better than the glass screens I had just started using.
I know I will buy more of these.

not sure if its advertised by smokin screw but this thing works great for hash and kief as well as bud

I have been putting the smokin screw in a few of my pipes that I was unable to smoke kief in because of the large holes in the pipes and it would get sucked right in but with the smokin screw it works great no more have smoked kief getting sucked in to my mouth

.... me too, I heat it up a little then dunk it into an alcohol dip... the tarry stuff comes right off, and a Q-tip can clear the rest,... If it gets really crusty, a toothbrush+alcohol combo would be effective too,.. I'll test that out soon! :bong: ...... <--- anybody ever notice that this guy is smoking out of the wrong hole??! :crying:

>>> nice dB! :d5:.... yes, nothing like sucking hot dope coals into your mouth-
