SnowBud is a hybrid of Afghani and South African genetics.

Any grow reports?

I can't remember precisely but will try to find out which genetics were used for snow storm #1.. Sometimes we use unreleased genebank material if it makes for a good variety. So it is not always something that has a famous names. She will finish around 10 weeks after planting wherever you are. Snow Storm #2 (not sure which version you have) would be perhaps even more pleasing to grow, #2 is an Orange Bud auto. Orange Bud was developed by our legendary grower 'Freddy' and is a potent and (for me) unique looking pure skunk that dates back to the 80's and is still a best seller. Skunk fans love their Orange Bud. I like her too. One of my colleagues rates Orange Bud as one of the special varieties.

I didnt see snowbud #2....

I dont have the seeds as I was looking for african genetics that were not durban... I am looking to re-make the old SSSC variety Beatrix choise...if your old enough to remember that gem...lol

10 weeks from seed is fast...are you sure... I'm speaking of the #1 which is not an auto correct?

I would appreciate that info on the african genes if you can dig it up...

Not sure if its the same thing or not or if any help but a while back (almost ten years:() a friend of mine grew out some 'Akorn' AKA snowbud...

Maybe a search on Akorn might help you out??....

fwiw he said it was the frostiest bud he has ever seen/grown.

SnowBuds#1 was upgraded to #2 a while ago, and is a good 'AutoSkunk'. Some good, non-Durban Poison, south african genes are our Power Plant.

Power Plant is a photoperiod strain, and if you speak to any of the Dutch Passion team they will tell you that Power Plant is one of our truly iconic and most potent strains. You still see it in the dutch coffee shops. We made an auto called Taiga which uses Power Plant genetics, that may be something for you to look at

I want to stay away from the classic Lickerish taste of the durban...

hi cres, what I am saying is that power plants is south african but NOT durban

Does the power plant have a licorice taste to it? Its the durban taste I want to stay away from... you do know what durban tastes like right?

SnowBud is our second “High Altitude” variety. SnowBud is a hybrid of Afghani and South African genetics. As with Pamir Gold the selection work is done in the Swiss Alpes. SnowBud (60% Sat./ 40% Ind.) has a spicy (cinnamon), skunky smell and taste, smokes very smooth and has a medium “up high”. Healthy plants may reach 1.8 till 2.2 meters outdoors. Mold and mildew resistant. Yield: above average. Does also well indoors. The name SnowBud refers to the huge amount of white pistils in the female flowers (buds).

SnowStorm #2

Orange Bud with its distinctive rich orange hairs and brutally powerful Skunk 'high' has been one of Dutch Passions legendary strains. It is a heavy-hitting, high yielding and low maintenance Skunk that dates back to the 1980's with its own army of dedicated followers. We decided to make an automatic version of Orange Bud and we named her SnowStorm #2. SnowStorm #2 was created using a particularly compatible Ruderalis strain.

The hybridisation project was not easy, Orange Bud remains one of our best selling strains with a superb all-round reputation that we were not prepared to compromise.

SnowStorm #2 has been a rewarding and pleasing strain. It typically grows to around 60cm in height with the general appearance of a compact Indica phenotype. The smoke-test team were highly satisfied with both the sweet flavour and powerful effect, this is an automatic Skunk that does justice to its proud heritage. SnowStorm #2 has been a high quality addition to our strain collection, it takes automatic strain potency to new levels along with good yields. This strain comes with our recommendation, SnowStorm #2 will have special appeal to those looking for a classy automatic version of the classic 1980's original skunk.

So tony lets confirm this one more time here because you have a error there in your post....

I dont care anything about Snowstorm# 1 or 2...

I ask about SnowBud only.

And your saying that the SnowBuds is afghani x power plant ?

I have had a number of PM's about SnowStorm and auto's in general since I got here. So my brain has also been in automatic mode. So much so that I have indeed been thinking of SnowStorm when you mentioned Snowbud. Sorry about that cres, now I have my head back in gear!

Snowbud is one of our high-altitude strains, and the south african genetics used were unspecified, possibly an uncommercialised genebank variety. I understand you don't like the characteristic durban flavour, but here there is no record of it from the smoke tests. I will do some digging around to see what south african genetics were used with snow bud and see if I can get you some more specific info. Sorry for the confusion man. It is indeed an afghani/south africal breeding project completed at altitude.
