Hi all, just thought I'd share my evening with you. Just harvested my first plant from my new LED set up and I am over the moon.
I've done a few grows outdoors over the years with auto's (low ryder/short ryder) and quite enjoyed what I harvested.
Packed in smoking fags/weed five years ago and never looked back, but did miss the occasional joint.Bought a bong and every now and again have a blast without tobacco.
But I also missed growing stuff as I am quite a keen gardener. Now things have changed so couldn't have a shitload of weed growing out my back garden so I've had to get it on indoors.
I am quite lucky as had space to build a room that's hidden and I am in the building game so built a 3.3 x2.1 meter room out of timber, plasterboard and 25mm celotex insulation boards which was pretty much air tight as I sealed all joints so no odours could escape and temp/humidity could be regulated.
I fitted a 150mm vent with ducting to pull in fresh air from outside world which gets scrubbed through a 'Black Orchid' inline fan and 600mm filter and then expelled up a false soil pipe to roof vent.
Now spent a lot of time researching what types of lighting and the pros and cons of them all. As I am quite tight the idea of LED's was great long term but scary short term, so being tight and it was my experimental first time grow indoors bought 3 x300 watt Mars Hydro.
Now as I'm a keen gardener I didn't want to get into the ins and outs of soil types and all the other additives that are out there I opted for a good quality compost, a box of fish blood and bone and some tomato feed.
I bought 5 lowryder fem autos and 5 auto mini gun seeds.I put in the lows first and 3 weeks later the mini's.
The lowryders were ok but finished a little below par I felt, compared to my outdoor grows with them.
2 did not really come to much worth even touching, the others were ok ish.
I cropped the first Mini gun tonight and over the fxxxing moon with results. Real nice lookin trimmed nugs with good density and four more to do over next week or two.
Anyway.... just wanted to share this as I forgot how exciting a crop is xxx
I was amazed at the speed of growth and density. The
